It's looking good either way. I would have went with 2 1/4 myself because of the size of the motor, but I don't think it should have any trouble spooling. It's coming along very well....

looks great so far. my project came to a hault before it began when my girl lost her job. i only have a few smaller parts for the turbo build. love to see a dyno run soon to see how much your putting down. hopefully by next summer mine will be well under way. best of luck, and have a great time with the boosted v6.

Looks great, but wondering why you used a BOV? Recirculating the excess air is always better!
tes its a neon , and there is a blow off valve but its not mounted yet will do that today , recirculation dosent make a difference except on a maf based car were using a bov on those will cause the car to run rich or stall when the bov is venting
hey everyone here is a video after the first start of the car. it is untuned and has an open downpipe for an exhaust. a lot of the stuff needs to be cleaned up but figured id give you a teaser

It's actually better than having hot spatter just stuck in your shoe you can't take off quickly. It's no different than how it bounces off your skin (arms) closer to the torch and, I'm comfortable.
Well it now moves under it's own power, still needs a good amount of tuning though. I can't believe how hard it pulls with just a couple psi, it's gonna be a beast at 10psi.
heres some runs we made while tunning these are all 3/4 psi and 1/4 to half throttle due to an issues with the wideband we did get it fixed so we will be making some runs tom at full throttle and will turn the boost upto 10 psi
well went to make some full throttle runs today and the clutch starts to slip oin the top of second gear and continues doin it up threw 5th so were going to see what we can do about it tommorow but ill get a video posted up here ina bit or first thing in the am
finished upt he install fully now and even have the full exhuast on the car with a homeade mufler. man this thing is sleeper quiet till boost comes in and then alls u hear is turbine whine and then the bov when u shift.

btw im am switching my own car from my stainless headers to this design that i did on pilsburys car they are that much better and they retian all accesorys witht he exception of the smogpump
only downside is u wont be able to use anything bigger then a 3 inch downpipe unless u use oval tubing for the downpipe were it passes the header and heater box unless u use a non ac box
and a video from last night
data log shows 25% throttle opening max and it still goes right threw the rpms in all the gears max boost in this video was 2.7 psi according to the datalog anything more then that right now and the clutch slips pretty good
I know you already bought and installed the Mega Squirt, but you should have looked at code59. It is enhanced Sy/Ty code with lots of support, and will run on just about anything. It will also retain a lot of stuff that goin to MS doesn't, like vehicle speed variables for the fans, PE, AE, idle, DFCO, and would have ECM controlled boost, that can be scaled by throttle position (how $58 does it) or by vehicle speed, which works great, this is how I have it set up. Knock sense is still retained, and WBO2 fueling control can be used. The main VE table has also been expanded to a 16 x 32 IIRC, way more than you need and is scaled up to 300 KPA.
I use a 1227749 ECM running Code59 on my Nissan I6, running DIS in my '73 Datsun. A friend of mine is using it in a 1227727, on an '80s Toyota I4 in his '56 Land Rover, and have seen many other applications where it has been used.
I've honestly looked into using MS for the last decade, and there is always something missing that the OEM Delco ECM has. The only one that has piqued my interest is MS3, but even then, it seems to be lacking knock sense, and vehicle speed inputs still. I'm very leary of using an MS on anything, I see far too many failures, randomly losing tunes and base settings while driving. I may use an MS1 on my bike, just because it would be smaller than a Delco ECM, and would really only need fuel control, but having spark control would be a definate improvement. I would just be worrird that laying down in a turn hard, and my engine shutting off could result in a messy situation....
I do like the JimStim though, I use one on my test bench for testing Delco ECMs. LOL

That's definately something I like about turbos, you hardly need a muffler and it really cuts down on the rasp when you're crusing. Oh, and the power increase is nice too.

it sounds SOOOOOOO much better with the turbo on it, very little rasp and much quieter however you do need a muffler if your like me i couldnt stand how loud it was with the straight downpipe, open headers is loud as ****, downpipe is a little less but still annoying, muffler equals awesome
I got a new clutch if you want it! I can't give you a new pressure plate, though. I promised that to Shiv515. I just want to see you able to do some WOT runs with this thing! And some dyno numbers, too!
problem is the clutch plate only has 2000ish miles on it, so im thinking there is another problem that is causing the slippage. i need to research it a bit but dont worry there will be some wot runs eventually. i tell you what before it slips its pulling freaking hard

LOL! I could tell it was pulling hard form the videos! Definitely glad I've decided to go a similar path with my Camaro.
I can attest to the fact that pills car will pull like a freight train. I drove it very lightly in the test/tune stages. Only once did I lay in to it slightly and I have to say 'damn'... it's impressive (from a v8 power perspective).
If it gets to the point the clutch can hold, it will be scary fast for a street car/DD.

i still have him setup on a very sae/mild tune when he gets the clutch issue figured out and mails me some data logs i can increase timming and bring the ars a lil leaner to get some more power out of it.steves car is damn ast as it is now. and will deffinatly be scary once the tune is fine tuned a bit more and the boost reaches 10 psi

and btw the oil switch does inact kill the engine if u run low on oil lmao

the rear mount turbo will yeild you pretty much the same power results, however with a rear mount turbo you do give up spool time and a bit of power as well but itll be close to mine. of course if yours is an auto you lose some power there to me as well
from what ive read around here the oil pressure switch with the stock ecm actually wont shut the motor off if oil pressure is low. and im pretty positive of that as ive ran my camaros with no oil numerous times(on purpose lol) and they never shut off. yet i did burn through those wires on it once(hit the headers) and that did shut the motor right off so who knows

Depends on the turbo. If you look at a user here (89jyturbo), he has an 11sec Cavalier with a RMT and a JY 3400.
true, but just for sake of argument. if he used the turbo i have and put his in the back im gonna have a slight advantage. im not talking a big diffrence but every little bit helps.
any car can be quick with a turbo...some of those cavaliers are stupid fast

The OPS, in stock form is a redundant PS (power source) to the FP. I wired it as relay control since p89 told me MS has no prime function. It's the same way TBI to carb guys use the OPS with tbi pump to the carb w/regulator.

I agree, if I were to run the same turbo as you, in the remote-mount setup, I would be slower than you. However, my friend and I are trying to hunt down a turbo, or a way to hybridize a turbo, that can flow about 800cfm at 7-10psi with a small housing to allow quick spool-up. So far, it's looking like a Holstet HX35 with a new housing. If we can get a turbo to do this, our thinking is that we could run the system without intercooling. Hopefully, there is enough room between the UIM and the firewall to mount the 3400 UIM with the throttle body plenum pointing towards the rear of the car. Plumbing from the turbo to the TB would be easier that way, I think.
When I get my Camaro built up, I'll be happy to have a little "grudge-match" with you Pillsbry10...LOL!

Well, yes, it would look AWESOME, but...it was an idea Purple82TA and I came up with to shorten the amount of distance that the compressed air had to travel from the remote-mount turbocharger to the throttle-body...to reduce boost-lag.
It would be cool, no doubt, but I'm not holding my breath on having enough room to do it...

Seriously?! Even with the throttle body attached to it?! You think there would still be enough room for a silicone fitting to attach my 3" pipe coming from the turbocharger?! WOW...
LOL! Oh, well, I ain't gonna go THAT "custom" on this build! But, I agree that with a big enough hammer and a blazing enough welder, anything is possible! My buddy would say you forgot about the Sawz-All...
