Can't pass smog with headers because there is no fitting for the AIR pipe in the pass side header...

Hybrid 3100 V6 swap nearly complete, too much body work to do first . Restomod in progress. So many parts to replace, so little money .
We're talking about the PaceSetter headers, right?
No 60* headers have the provision for the AIR system... A lot don't even have the provision for the EGR, depending on the age of the headers (PF&E, Hedman).
Doesn't anybody use the "search" function anymore? In a previous thread, I posted my numbers on emissions testing four days after the install on a major build.
I've read your thread and enjoyed it. Contests on your build. My problem is I don't know if I need the air pump or not to pass californias smog test seeing as the air pump originates with a hose coming from the smog pump. I'm going to go ask a local smog guy and bring results for any v6 guys like me in Cali.
You can't pass smog in CA with the PaceSetters. It says so right on their website, that the headers are only 49 state legal, with CA having said "No way, Jose!".
It appears that CA maintains that every car MUST have ALL of its original emissions control equipment to pass state emissions inspection.

But since the Pacesetters have the EGR on it then why wouldn't he pass?
If you do get Pacesetters GET THE CERAMIC COATED HEADERS. Trust me! The regular headers will rot out quick! They did on my camaro
Yeah the guy at the smog shop Said exactly that. Even the air injection system. If anyone finds carb approved headers for our v6, spread the word please.
Seems to me you could modify the pacesetters to accept AIR?
It would need the tubes welded, but if you could do that I can't see why that would be a problem. I haven't seen it done on a V6 before though. Not saying it's practical, but it's certainly possible
i think basically what everyone is saying is they arent "technically" legal to use in CA in most cases. if you get by with it awesome. its your choice but either way youll have to modify them in some way.
