I have a friend wanting to soup up his 92 3.1L v6. To help advise, I need more info. I need cam specs, valve size, head flowbench data, CR, CFM flow of intake, etc, etc, etc. Anything you have would be helpful, I know jack about these engines. Thanks.

*looks around nervously* Who, me? I don't know many specs on the 3.1.. hell, do I know any? Hm. All I can think of is that the 3.1 has a one-piece rear seal (started in the 60 degree blocks in 1985). I don't even know the compression ratio!
The heads should be the same as the 2.8, as would be the intake's flow specs. It seems the 2.8's "High Output" heads arrived in 1984. They then lost the "HO" designation in 1985. I don't know of any other changes. Fiero 2.8's might (that's -might-) have heads with larger valves, but I'm not sure. I think their throttle bodies flow more, but as I'm aware, I don't think anybody's flow tested a 2.8/3.1 TB.
140 hp. 180 ftlbs.
valve size. 1.6 intake 1.3 exhaust.

tell him to put in a cranecompucam, 2 1/2" carback, K&N cone intake(custom build it with PVC pipe) shift kit, pulleys, and a custom chip for the cam,he will have to custom make headers, or modify 3.4 camaro/firebird headers for the 4th gens...... 3.73's..........or if has has ballz try a 4.10! should be running low/mid 15's after all this.
