Heads,cam,supercharger mods for a 3.1! NOT BAD!!

When i got rid of my 3.1 a week ago(still crying) i found many publications for performance parts for the 3.1 in the 3rd gen camaro/firebirds. MY friend who i recently met has all those mods in his 3.1 and destroyed a twin turbo supra 96' twin turbo 300zx and came close on a 99' Vette. Id write the number of the mods but i doubt people will even look at this post and even bother to buy those mods. However if i see people that are interested all get the information and write back.

The supercharger is from Paxton i believe it runs 7 to 8 psi. As of now im in my friends house. Tomorrow (Saturday) ill post all the information about the mods. Keep in mind my friend spent alot of money on his 3.1. Just so everyone knows dont expect to run as fast as him unless u tend on spending big bucks. So like i said look for this post tomorrow (saturday)in the afternoon-evening and ill write it down.

Wish you were not back east.
I'm looking for acheap 4 bbl Iron intake for a small block Chrysler!
The mods.....
Paxton stuff is great.
He's had superchargers going on cars since the 50's. Yes, the 50's. One of the people that worked with him, are the same folks that bring you chain saws, Mucullock (misspelled, I know).
Would enjoy reading of the option. Possibly a modified unit to work for our 60*V-6 set up.
Wish it was smog legal in CA.
IS THE SUPERCHARGER, INTERCHANGABLE WITH Small Block Chevy's applications? That detail, I would enjoy knowing. I could use it on 3 cars

OK here are the part #'s for the cam, supercharger and heads:

supercharger is from Paxton. Wow it actually doesnt have the part # but this is what it says on the ad. The Kit for the v6(3.1)engine is both less expensive(2,200) and less labor intensive (4 1/2 hour installation time)than for the v8's. Rear wheel power increased (45 percent)remains the same. I freakin lost Paxton's number but im sure theres a bunch of people in the power adder department that have their number.
The cam is from Crane Cams part # is pending on your application:
part # CRN-254112 rpm 1,000-4,000 $=159.95
Part # CRN-254122 rpm 1,500-4,500 $=159.95
If u need cam specs for both cams ill post it later. CRane says these cam are great for computer controlled vehicles and good for vehicles with performanc chips. Call Summit page is 44.
For the HEads:
Chevrolet is the only source for performance heads for the 2.8 liter and 3.1 liter, 60-degree v6 engines. Chevrolet part # is 14054884 and is a cast iron cylinder head thats used on High Output engines in both transversed-mounted (frontwheel drive) and rear wheel drive applications. This casting is machined for 1.72" diameter intake and 1.42" exhaust valves(standard valve sizes are 1.60" intake adn 1.30" exhaust). Obviously, a slight bump in compression ration, installation of the cam and some porting work are useful in taking in full advantage of the heads airflow capacity.
One more thing the 1987- and later "Generation II" engines are equipped with a canted-valve aluminum head(part # 10048649) that also has a 1.72" intake and 1.42"exhaust valves. Although this head is appealing due to aluminum, its not practical to intall on 86-and ealier engines.

My friend did similar work with his camaro including fully ported and polished the heads. Custom bigger injectors, Rebuild motor with compression down to 8:5:1,ported the plennum, thottle bodie and a bunch of other stuff. Most importantly the exaust system. If u want those power adders to work for u, u must have a complete free flowing exaust system. I hope i helped just a little. I rarely see my friend cause he lives in jersey and races alot so this is the best i can do. Have fun running the V-6 into the V-8 area. later.

Dude, I just chewed through the entire paxton website and found nothing for the 60* V^. If you could find the part number, or maybe just where he bought it from, that would be VERY lpful to all of us. thanks.

I spoke with paxton eariler today and they say they dont make or ever did make a supercharger for the 60° V6 engine. They did however tell me to try turbotech or vortec.

Faegol made one for Carbed and TBI 2.8 engines. This is not mine, but I have one for a TBI engine. This one was a carb unit adapted to TBI use. The difference is the top-plate.

Faegol is out of business unfortunately. I think that there is another company who makes one for the 60* but doesn't list it.
