My 2.8 has very little power,when I drive the car it doesnt want to go anywhere,and at the top end of the gears the motor begins to rev back and fourth.I took the car to a shop and they told me the car was running very lean.Is there any way to fix this. Thanks for the help in advance.

What do you mean by the top end of the gears? (Automatic or stick?) If automatic, you might be describing the TCC operation?

How did they discover it was running lean? Your injectors could be clogged, fuel filter could be clogged, fuel pump dying (low pressure), regulator stuck, fuel feed hose clogged, etc...

Have you done a major tuneup? (Not just plugs & wires...) I'd do that before I'd start attacking the whole fuel system.

Check spark plus if they are white on the electrodes or burnt than yes its lean. Check for vacuum leaks via. broken hoses bad intake gaskets and especially the EGR valve.
The EGR valve is the most common problem with vacuum leaks when they go bad.
Also, the Oxygen sensor can cause lean mixture. If it hasnt been changed in a while I would replace it.
