The 4.3 is a 90* V-6

And the wiring harness for the 3.1 will not work on the 4.3 and vise versa.

Nope, well that depends.

If you had a carbed car you could get it to work with all the electronic controlls (yea all 4)
with a 5.0 ecm. The problems is the 4.3 isnt tpi and the 3.1 is, so thats were you would run into problems. As far as wires go, you could possibly run a S15 (4.3) computer rewire a few connections and put a tbi on the 4.3 and it should work.

This is the same argy-ment of will a 305 swap into my 3.1 bird? Get a f-body that used to have an 8, (i.e. engine out), then drop in the 4.3. order the suercharger from vortech and fry some rice.

Choices, Choices, Choices

Or get a CPI or even one of the new TPI 4,3's and rip them a new one! I am more then looking into swapping in a 4.3 into my 92, but it will be heavily modded,... IE Turbo, pro built bottom and top pushing in the nieghborhood of 550 ponies!. (Under full boost and with the intercooler)

You can find the Basic 4.3 Block/complete engine pretty cheap usually. You can add either Carb, TBI(Not very good IMO) CPI Good stuff there, or even the newest version that sports something like TPI.

The 4.3L still sports the same bull$h!t Central Port Fuel Injection that it has for at least the last 7-8 years. Those CPFI engines ALWAYS get stuck injectors. ALWAYS.

actually, the CPI has 1 injector, a nice little $300 injector. Hey camaro_hunter_d, where do YOU know where to get some go fast goodies for a CPI engine? my wife (and I ) want our blazer to go faster

CFound the Problem

Think I found my problem with the poor performance. While adjusting the timing I noticed a strong exhaust smell. After inspection I found a missing man bolt. (Hope this is it)
Thanks for all the input and after I get this problem solved with all the new ignition and sensors I replaced a rebuild is in order.

Thanks again.

There are 6 injectors for CPI... All the injectors are part of 1 unit though.(It looks like a giant spider) On some 4.3's they all fire at the same time and on others they fire in order.

If one injector goes bad......you're stuck with replacing the whole expencive unit. I dislike these systems simply because either an injector gets stuck or the fuel pressure regulator leaks....all before 100,000 miles. They are good motors other than those 2 things. The regulator can be replaced in 2 hours and you can use compressed air to "unstick" injectors.

Well as far as internals go I am just using 350 parts. MY go fast thing will be that turbo upgrade of the Cyclone/Typhoon varity. You can get a $hit load of different cams and such from GM, Crane ect. As far as the fuel set up I am going to use a even fire crank(does that mean they are they sequential or what?) or does that mean they fire 2 cylinders at once? I dunno have to find out. anyway If I can get ahold of a sequential fire crank I will use a moddified bin from our ECM to run the injector pulses. I do plan on mounting the injectors like a true TPI set up not CPI.

I know you can get headers, pullies, maybe even a NOS kit? theyres ALOT of stuff for the 4.3 simply because its so close the the traditional V8 350.
