2.8l 86 firebird t-top $900. So far I've changed the starter, Thermostat, plugs, driver window motor, and coil. Runs great. Have some dents in driverside rear, I'll fix that next month though.

$600 for a clean, running 1988 RS. To bad it is sitting with an engine out of it to make room for a turbo 355.

450 dollors has a tune up needed and i need to find a 83 steering column for it basicly guted out in side but the seats and belts you know steario is in it origanl all things
i picked up my 87 camaro ( 5spd) for 1500 bucks, it runs amazing, no issues with it, has a system in it and a CB, inside is amazing.
must say its the best looking used car ever bought
Got a 87 for 800 bucks, came with american racing wheels and new tires. Had an auto in it as well as a brandnew 800 dollar exhaust with 3 inch pipe and an 80 series muffler. Sounds great, the paints peeling but I can sand it all down and get it paitned like new.
Okay, I've waited very long before posting, , I paid $5700 (Cdn) for my 1989 Firebird (2.8/ 5-speed) in 2002. But the car was immaculate - I mean no rust, fresh paint, ran perfect, fully detailed and the interior flawless!!!! So, there you go. My wife drove it home and a rad hose blew - but the dealership picked up the car and fixed it as well - no charge.
I still have the car, current mileage 470,000 km. Work done? Regular maintenance, plus rear-end and tranny re-build, then, the 2.8L stroker plus a whole lot more
Would I buy it again for that price??? IN A HEARTBEAT!!! The car is white (actually Arctic White) and the compliments.....man you can't beat that - I've had everyone from 15-70+ compliment the car. It is also my daily driver and has got me through rain, sleet, hail, and white-outs. The car is a tank.
Currently, I can cruise at a nice 140-150 km to keep up with the BMWs and Mercedes Benzs. I've had it to 185 kph (about 112-116 mph) and still have some room
1000$. 91 3.1l that i was told was a 90 but the vin says otherwise.
came complete with:
-a spare transmission that the guy had in his shed.
-a gummy bear like transmission mount that made the tranny smack the floor board when i hit it from a stop. thats why he gave me his spare transmission.
-blown valve cover gaskets
-broken manifold bolt that gave me a nice exhaust leak
-paint chipping, i had a water hose and a scraper on it to get the old paint off and spray painted it. the primer was still holding on pretty good.
-worn out plug wires/cap/rotor
-bald tires
-leaky axle seals
-burned out passenger window motor
-unplugged hatch button
-worn seats/cracked dash
-cracked windshield
-crap cd player
-worn t top seals
-gutted cat because it was plugged
-screwey tach
-no horn
-egr problems
i'm sure i missed a few but hey, it runs pretty good and is a lot quicker than my 89 t-bird. i'm not complaining about the buy, any car thats 18 years old is gonna need a little tlc so i'm working on getting it fixed up. i don't know much about camaros so i'm still browsing the forum search before i start posting questions.
i paid 200 from my 92 rs. the guy know nothing about cars and the only thing wrong with it was the fuel pump. The bad part or me is he let it seat for 5 year so i need new tires interior(he was using it to store junk in) i have already tuned it up still a little rough though. For 200 bucks you can't bet it
Bought an 88 Firebird recently. $300. White with t-tops, 305 tbi, and 700r4. What I didn't know was, the motor was swapped to a 350. Doesn't run right now, but it's being worked on as we speak.
-166k miles on body
-Rear disc brakes (not sure but will check if posi)
-350 TBI
-Clearcoat chipping
-Fast
-3.08 gears (could be a higher posi)
-New rear tires, fronts are new but already cracked
$700 for an 86 Sport Coupe that might be a Berlinetta (front license plate holder says berlinetta, need to look into it).
Cons:
180K
Needs Tranny Rebuilt $600
Needs Cam $75
Wrong Alternator $70 (I'm 16 have 3 cars and they all came with the wrong alt, WTF??)
Needs Major Tune Up $60
Heater Core Leaks $50
SES light on
Paint is Horrible, 1k at least
R*cer wing drilled into hatch, the pain of seeing a camaro with a ***** cannot be healed with money.
Pro's
A TON of 80's cassettes under the rear seat. Guns n' roses, Journey, Whitesnake, White Lion, Ratt, Warrant, Cinderella, and best of all, three Billy Squier tapes. SCORE!!!!!!!!!!!

1987 Sport Coupe 2.8L 5 speed with T-tops. The hatch goes down a bit too much and there is a giant gap around the hatch, a good half inch on both sides. The clearcoat has peeled off everywhere but the side of the car and the hood has white holes in the paint. The frame is in good condition and there is little rust on the body itself. It needs new suspension and the engine knocks badly at anything above idle. Car also idles extremely low.
Oh, and it has a nice dent right next to the front bumper. Though that's nothing compared to the knock that you can hear at anything above idle. If I can fix that though then I'm the happiest person alive. However it'll probably take a rebuild which isn't an option for me.
It came with a power bulge hood (from an 89 Formula) and 16" WS6 formula wheels. The trans was junk so I replaced it with a V8 trans from an 86 T/A. Drove it from Ohio to Florida and overheated it really bad a couple of times, but replaced the thermostat and it is still chugging along.

$1500 back in 2004, had 123,000miles, fresh paint that faded 2 months later(macco), and it was fairly clean. I've invested somewhere around $5,000-7,000 into in the past 5 years, it's now at 190,799miles, you really can't tell i've invested that much money into it though other than the wheels, hood, and exhaust tips. Other than the block/internals and heads...the motor is basically brand new that's where all the money has gone.
$400.00

$6,600 during the summer of 1997. Excellent condition with 56,000 miles (now 124,000 miles). Base model w/ T-tops. Right now the cost of restoration might exceed the original purchase price, but that's why they call it a hobby, right?
1500 but 2000 after all the paperwork lol bought it from a lady in Nevada

3.1L V6 W/ 136000 Miles On It
Needs Work
Does Have A T/A Body Kit On It, T-Tops Don't Leak, Does Run...Sometimes(trying to figure it out)
it is very sharp, was repainted Hunter Green, it used to be red
I paid just over $13,000 for my 91 RS. I bought the car brand new in 91. I still own the car today and it has 49000 miles on it no rust or body damage but it does have the typical paint peel. Going to get it painted very soon. It has been in my garage for the past 5 years and still runs great.

I payed absolutly nothing: 1989 Firebird 2.8L, 700R4, T-tops, AC. I need a power steering pump, fuel pump, and I'm getting her painted and a new interior for free also.
i paid $58.00 for my 86 firebird which was a garage baby. It has 99K miles on the clock. The 58 bucks was the title and registration fee because i inherited it from my dad. i can post some pics if anyone wants a look see.

I didn't pay nothing, but my dad paid $200 for my 85 firebird. I just do chores around the house to pay it off.
It has the 2.8mpfi, 700r4 that worked fine when we got the car but something broke so it only has reverse now. stock open rear end, stock wheels with new tires before it was parked because of bad headgasket, so tires have some cracks from sitting for awhile. New water pump, new exhaust from cat back with new magnaflow muffler. car has 120000 miles on it. has some paint peeling on hood and roof and one small dent on front bumper, and a little rust on hatch.
no power windows, locks, or anything to burn up. Needs rear brakes done.
We also just bought another 2.8 engine from an 87 s10 that has a Crane cam powermax 2020 that only has 3hours on it. and has an ARP head stud kit. The engine has under 55000 miles on it.
So the engine that's in it will get pulled out and I will set it aside and at one point bore and stroke it to a 3.4, and have my dad design a custom cam for it. Was gonna do it to the one that we just got but it's to low of miles.
Bought an 86 t-top camaro with 2.8 auto and drove home fine. Southern Car and NO RUST but paint was starting to chip! For $1500. Came with parts car, that engine was 2.8 and was crap!, body was ok and transmission was put into my 86 when clunked out. I sold it for $100 wen got all parts i needed off of it. So pretty good buy i think. I just swapped the v6 to a v8 in my 86.
traded a 91 skidoo mach 1 in crappy shape that i got for free, for a 91 rs, 3.1 5 speed, new tires and ultra aluminum mag rims, straight body, runs good except bad dizzy makes it miss under hard acceleration, and i put a lower mileage 5 speed in it that i stole from my 89. gets 31 higway as is, and i have about 10 hours and 80 bux into plugs, wires, cap, rotor, fuel filter, intake i made, rad hoses, and TB coolant block off.
its for sale too, dont need this one, my Big Block 89 rs is feeling neglected.

$2k
everything about the car was good, needed a major tune up though.
idk how much ive spent on that already.
engine has about 130XXX
runs really good and strong
also needed a new dashboard and floormats, got that covered.
still has factory radio with no casette player or anything. so im working on that now.
the paint is in shape however there a few dry spots that need retouching.
and the rims wer horrible when i first got it, but i cleaned them up the best i could and painted them. so overall
2k+ plus what ive put into it really isnt that much
but i just feel like my v6 is slow
so if anything im probably gonna end up selling it when the oppurtunity comes along
