| So far the work on the car has been the body mods and trying to get the unibody all tied together... Body mods have been a blast! I don't like plastic on a car, so I did away with the front and rear bumpers and all the rest of the plastic and built my own pieces out of 20 ga. steel. The entire front clip when completed will be held on with bolts and nutserts. The rear mods are all welded in and smoothed. I decided I didn't like the hatchback either, so I did away with it and fabbed up my own rear roof panel, rear window, and a deck lid. Suspension for the rear is a triangulated 4 bar with coilovers and will be augmented with a Watt's linkage to keep everything nicely centered and hooked up!!!! Front suspension is still in the design and head scratching phase, but it's design will be influenced by my racing days with late models on asphalt and dirt.... trying to use the stock spindle/strut configuration on the front with a different crossmember and lower a-arm setup.... still working on it.... Engine will be a stroked small block with a carb on top and a 5 speed behind it. I'll try to keep this updated as I progress. Thanks for having a look, Dave |
