five7kid's 1982 Camaro Berlinetta
1982 Berlinetta #1:
Green car acquired in May, 1999, with a cracked block 2.8l V6 and TH200C 3-speed auto. I never drove it with that engine/transmission. Found a rear-ended '86 Sports Coupe with LG4 305/TH700R-4 which became the donor for the Berli. I pulled all of the equipment, including dash, from the '86 to do the swap. First drove it in August that year. I actually raced it in the 2000 season, best it ever ran was 16.85 @ 80 mph at our 5800' altitude. Later put a 2.93 posi rear from another '82 to replace the original 3.08 open.
Novemeber 2001, the 305 came out and was enhanced with World S/R Torquer 305's which I ported, a Crane 2050 Compucam, GMPP/ZZ3 intake manifold, Hooker 2055 headers and 3" cat-back, and a restalled converter to 2300 RPMs. I didn't race it much, but its best run was a 15.70 @ 90 MPH. The tranny was tired and wouldn't shift 2-3 at WOT, so that probably limited performance.
Summer of 2005, the 305 came out again and a rebuilt ZZ3 shortblock went back in, along with a ZZ4 cam and rebuilt '83 TH700R-4. Basically a clone of the previously-available HO 350 Camaro Conversion Kit with cast iron heads. With the same converter and gears, it ran a 14.36 @ 95 MPH first time out. That translates to 13.3 @ 102 MPH at sea level. In 2008 the Flowmaster 80 series was replaced with a 3" single in/out Magnaflow, and the rear was upgraded to a 4th gen posi carrier with 3.23 gears, 28 spline Moser axles, welded tubes, and an aluminum support cover. Best at 5800' is a 14.04 @ 96 MPH (13.4 @ 100 MPH at sea level).
Other details: H hanger DR rods in the q-jet, Carter M6626 mechanical fuel pump, Accel Supercoil and 7-pin module, dual snorkel air cleaner, console Megashifter. The full picture is from a few years ago, but this is basically what it looks like now. It's my get-to-work car.
Next phase is Vortec heads, Hooker 2210's.

1982 Berlinetta #2:
Silver car is new acquisition 10/07. It was an original LG4 305 car, had 304k miles on it when I pulled the engine/tranny for the 2000 SS LS1/T56 swap. Things it'll be getting: LS6 intake; 4th gen tank; LS7 clutch & flywheel; headers & dual exhaust; Eaton posi, Sierra 4:10 gears & 28-spline axles, disk brakes, G-Force ladder bar conversion; aftermarket gage cluster with programable speedo and gas gauge; quick ratio steering gear, poly bushings, V6 front springs. A.I.R., EGR, evap, VATS have been programmed out of the PCM.

1957 Bel Air:
My first car, acquired in 1971. It has been through several configurations since then, now has a 396/TH400 from a '66 Impala. Treated to a 10:1 rebuild, self-ported heads, Performer RPM Air Gap intake, Holley/Proform/QFT carb converted to E85, Comp XS282S solid cam. Hughes 4000 stall converter & TCI shift kit for the tranny. Rear is an 8.2" 10-bolt from a '71 Nova with Auburn posi and 4.11 gears. Best 12.839 @ 103.75 at 5800' elevation Bandimere, 11.95 @ 111 with a 100 shot.
The pics were taken in Pomona Nov '04; the first is Round 1, and the burnout pic is from the NHRA website, same event. I was in Pomona after winning the NHRA Div V Summit ET Sportsman class, and was runner-up at the Finals. The other claim to fame (more like my allotment of 15 minutes) is it made it to the 16 on Pinks All Out filmed at Bandimere in 2008.
Preparing a stroked LQ4 (402 CID), L92 heads, L76 intake, custom cam, 1-7/8" primary headers, 4L80E transformation.

rwdtech you are one of the most mature, knowledgeable, and helpful persons on the boards. Are you ever planning on doing up the exterior to match that awesome power plant? 02-25-2007
five7kid I don't have any big exterior plans. I like the simple, functional look. Actually, I'm a "function over form" kind of guy, don't have the patience for pure form. 03-15-2007
jrwalz This sight won't let me look at that vacuum Diagram jpg. I was wondering if you could be so kind to email it to me at jaguare1017@yahoo.com. I can't find anything that shows the proper places for the hoses. For instance, where does the Map sensor plug into? 09-10-2007
five7kid Well, major change coming up. 2000 Camaro SS LS1/T56 will be going in soon. 09-26-2007
five7kid Actually, the LS1/T56 is going in the silver car. 10-23-2007
