| N2TRUX's 84 Chevrolet Z-28 H.O. | |||
| This is my wife's 84 Z-28 that she bought new in 1984. It has undergone several stages transformations over the years. In the beginning we used it as a weekend driver, until we took it to a car show. We entered the show just to keep it out of the parking lot, and we won best of class. That was the beginning of a quest to build a really nice drivable show car. We traveled all over the state as well as out of state for a few big shows. We won a ton of awards over the years at car shows as well as stereo competitions. The car was featured in a few magazines articles and made a couple of cover shots along with my wife. We had an awesome time showing and competing with the car and met a lot of great people along the way. Many of those people are still close friends today. Almost 15 years ago one of those friends offered to buy the car so we sold it to him. He had plans to change the interior, and add an even bigger stereo system. It went to an upholstery shop where it was taken apart then set for over a year. I pulled it out of that shop and took it to one of my warehouses where it sat untouched for 7 years. The friend that bought it from me lost interest and traded it along with a Chevy truck to another friend. The new owner called me and made an offer I couldn't refuse, so I bought it back for pennies on the dollar. Another 7 years have gone by and it has been sitting in the garage of my new house collecting dust. I have had a few other projects in the interim that have kept me entertained. Recently my wife decided that we should just sell it to make room for a new toy. I suggested we clean it up before we sell it. In the process of cleaning it up she saw images of what the car once was and felt compelled to keep it. That urge may change once we get the car running again, but for now the resurrection of "Obsession" has begin. |
