355gta's 1989 pontiac trans am gta
This is my '89 GTA. When I got it all that was done was a flowmaster 50 series catbak. It ran really good. Then I put a Holley air foil, BBK afpr, 2200 stall, and hedman longtubes. By the end of last year I had run a 13.7 with a 1.8 60' on 225/50zr16 kumho 711s with a 9 bolt that had 2.77 gears. I have set out all year and finally got going for a local street car race. I have built a 355 that is 10.5:1 with a .510/.533 cam, fully ported and bowl blended L98 heads that have 2.02/1.60 valves, victor intake, 1.6 roller rockers, and a holley 750 mech. sec. I am going to spray about 175-200 to the motor. Installed an 8 point cage, hotchkis subframe connectors, BMR severe duty lower control arms, and a different 9 bolt with 3.27 gears. I have been building a turbo motor for a while but it is no where near done so I will not be running it. I dont have any pics from last year except for at the track. All the build pics have been from the last week. For some reason I can only upload one pic so you can see some more at: http://s12.photobucket.com/albums/a240/Doug355GTA/

Update: I did not make it to the "Street Car Chaos" race today. The new oil pump in my motor will not make pressure. I drove 60 miles at nidnight last night to a 24 hour Autozone and they did not have on in stock. I could not belive it. I keep 5 in stock at my Advance Auto store. I was mad. I don't think I am allowed back there.

I got the new pump in tonight and I am almost ready for Edgewater on sat. I will post new times after that.

Well there is a chance that the old pump was not bad to begin with but we broke it trying to prime the motor. Apparently there is a chance the machine shop forgot an oil plug in the motor. It is the one that goes in the block under the rear main cap. I guess I am going to pull the pan one more time to see if it is in there. If not, the motor is coming back out. This sux. Only I have luck like this.

Well, I have not updated in a while. I got to the track but seperated the throttle cable from the housing and was only getting 3/4 throttle all day. Other then that no new news. Checkout my new website. It can not have pics uploaded until it is 7 days old so not much to look at, but go and browse around. www.freewebs.com/doug355gta
