drshirk's 1991 Camaro RS
I am a noobie to working on cars and I have always loved 3rd gen Camaros and Firebirds. I am working on my project car. It is 1991 Camaro. I bought it for $800 back in 2003. I bought it off a lady near D.C. It was her daily driver till she ran it into a curb. Her husband kept it around for a year but never fixed it. It had a bent ball joint that made the front drivers wheel sit crooked. He didn't know what was wrong with it. I towed it home and fixed the ball joint. It ran good but had 180k miles on its 305 TBI. At one point I listed it here on thirdgen for sale. I am glad now that I didn't sell it. When I first got it I put seats out of a fourth gen in it. I bought some 4th gen wheels and put on it with whell adapters. I bought a new convertible top off of the internet for it and put that on myself, with my dad's help. It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. I had a new wind shield put in. New breaks all around. The interieor looks good the dash isn't even cracked. I have been planning and slowly learning about 3rd gens. I am going to start working on this car as soon as it warms up around here. I built a 350 shortblock that is ready to go. My heads are at the machine shop. Just need to get parts for the fuel injection. I am planning on keeping it TBI. I have a rebuilt 700R4 for it and I am getting a fourth gen rear end with disc brakes next weekend. After I get it all put together I am going to have my father in law paint it for me. He owns a body shop. So that is where I am in my project. I have learned a lot by being a member on thridgen.org and all of you have been a huge help.

Cowboycraz If you like the third gens so much why not keep it all third gen instead of adding all of the fourth gen stuff to it? 03-18-2007
drshirk Because I got the 4th gen parts cheap and they were in better shape then what I had. Is that ok with you or should I ask permission to do to what my car what I want to do? 03-18-2007
Cowboycraz I wasn't trying to say you did anything wrong I was just asking why. No need to take an attitude. 03-23-2007
drshirk Hey Cowboy. My appologies. I just took it the wrong way I guess. Sorry dude. 03-25-2007
