Daniel U's 1988 Chevrolet IROC Camaro
So here's the info on my ride: (RPO CODES)
ENGINE: The stock (L98) (B2L) 5.7L motor was supposed to have 230 h.p. from the factory in 1988. Mine is still stock with 237k+ miles on the clock(Not sure what that translates to at the rear wheels).

IGNITION: Stock coil with MSD cap/rotor/wires and A/C Delco plugs

TRANSMISSION/REAR: The stock 700R4 (MD8)(MXO) transmission and 9 bolt Borg Warner rear end w/3.27 (G92) limited slip (G80) also have the same 230k+ miles.

BRAKES: Stock 4 wheel disc brakes (J65)

WHEELS: The stock 1988 style 16" IROC wheels(N96) were traded for 1987 style 16" IROC wheels, chrome plated and wrapped with BFG KDWSFront(245/50/16)Rear(255/50/16). (QDZ)

SUSPENSION: The J&M LCA's and LCARB's, J&M Panhard bar, Moog ball joints, Bilstien shocks (FRONT)KYB adjst. (REAR), & Eibach Pro Kit lowering springs help update the ride.

INTAKE: The TB coolant by-pass keeps the TPI intake temperatures down and the de-srceened MAF, gutted air box, 58mm TB, AZ. S&M runners, port matched plenum and K&N air filters allow more air in. When time and money permit I'll get a better base intake as well.

EXHAUST: Edlebrock SMOG legal headers & "Y" pipe with copper gaskets, Flowmaster and a straight pipe (no Cat) help the exhaust flow better.

COOLING: The Griffin aluminum radiator, Edlebrock alum. "hi-flow" water pump, Harwood fiberglass 3"cowl hood, removed fog lamps, oil cooler (KC4) and new fan temperatures(195 deg.) keep the underhood temperatures down.

BODY/EXTERIOR: Modifacations include: Shaved antenea & rear bumper, removed door trim, 3" cowl hood, (DX3) IROC-Z decal/stripe delete, new paint(87U) "Gun Metal" grey, & window tint (rear & 3"strip on windshield)Limo,(sides)50%.

INTERIOR: Modifications include: Aftermarket Grant GT steering wheel, Pioneer CD player, stock 145 speedometer/5500 tachometer, black carpet, black/grey cloth(19C,19I).

OTHER OPTIONS: (DG7) Power L/R mirrors, (AG9) Power driver seat

So far I've yanked the A/C (canister, condensor, hardlines, and compressor) out and added the A/C delete pulley (C41) found in the 1LE cars. I also bought the heater box for the firewall and installed it. This eliminated some wieght and freed up some ponies. I also removed the jack and spare(N65). This will someday be the new home for the new Optima battery. The Bosch o2 sensor was put in with a new fanswitch. I installed a '91 fuel tank with fuel baffle, 1LE sending unit/strainer & Walbro 255lph hp fuel pump. This should eliminate fuel starve during hard cornering. I also puchased a mini starter (7.5 lbs.) by Hitachi (PSL100) to replace the heavy stock 22 lb. one. I'll install the Hitachi when the stock one goes out. Because I can't afford to dump money into the car like I would when I was single, as stuff needs to be replaced, I upgrade. Oh yeah, she's a daily driver too!

Future plans for the IROC include: SFC's, the L98 stroked to 383 (W/at least 350bhp)and all the proper parts to make it happen, manual 5 speed swap, a built 12 bolt(if the 9 bolt goes out under the new hp), a carbon fiber drive shaft, complete tubular K member with A arms, & 10" BFG Drag Radials. I'd also like to add the 1LE brake set up in front and an adjustable proportioning valve. Another goal is to be 3000 lbs. or less, so watch out Jenny Craig!(new lighter front seats, alum. block & heads, manual trans.,etc.)

OTHER RIDES:
1954 Chevrolet 5 window short bed pick up (being restored with a 350/700R4/10 bolt posi out of my totaled '84 Z/28 R.I.P.)

1999 Chevrolet Tahoe with a 5.7 Vortec/4L60E w/shift kit & Corvette servo, 10bolt w/ Eaton posi and 4:10's, 22" wheels, Baer disc Brakes front and rear, Rancho 9000RSX shocks, steering stabilizer, Hotchkis front and rear sway bars, 2" drop springs in front, color matched door handles and mirrors, K&N cool intake, Optima batt. & Gibson ceramic coated headers.

2003 Harley Davidson Heritage Softail with an 88 ci. V- Twin, 5 speed transmission, dual disc brakes, Vance & Hines exhaust and lot of chrome!

Ya think i'm addicted to speed and gas? Hmmmmmm.....
