I was looking for a sporty/good fuel mileaged car to get me back and forth to work.Nothing fast ,just a commuter..but a good looking commuter.I decided on a firebird, but didnt want to deal with the hideaway headlight stuff that usually breaks.Knowing my luck I will be coming out of a bar ,sauced up and lights wont pop up.NOT..so I decided on the camaro.I went looking here in town, and almost had one, but was gone by the time I got to the owner.I didnt want the v8 cause I can drive my truck to work if I wanted that.So I ended up getting one from the next state over.It wasnt in the best of shape but the body was excellent.Car was broken into many times from the previous owners, since I had to repair the steering column, and get all new keys made for it.On its way here... there was a storm and the passengers window was part way down.I got a good inch of water on the floorboards.I purchased the car for only 699 bucks, but it took 795 bucks to get it here. Then I dropped another 2500 bucks into it so far.It took me three months to get a title for it since I had nothing but a lien of sale.I am finally down to small items and can actually enjoy it.I am pleased with the performance of the v6 ..its not as quick as a 8 ,but its not as slow as a TBI 4 cylinder.Thats what I got rid of to get the camaro, and to tell you the truth I think the camaro gets better fuel mileage.I found some original 15 rims for it and had them cleaned up and installed some new rubber on them.Dont you think that 15 inch wheel in the pic ,is what it should of looked like when it rolled off the GM line?It doesnt have much mods now,I installed a flowmaster muffler, and hotter ignition. As of 4-25-08 ...a iroc hood, ported V6 heads, and a new cam await for installation, and new paint.Since this is my main transportation to work ..I want to keep the V6 for its fuel mileage.Just a few upgrades to make it a nice trip to work.Cause I love going there so much.
