I bought this car off a friend for $50 in spring 2001. The car was in a front end accident and was 4 different colors. I slowly began replacing parts and modifying things and now it looks pretty good. I wanted to keep the exterior of the car looking stock, but a lot of the other stuff has been upgraded or modified.
Engine: 1966 Corvette 327/350HP - bored 30 over, Speedpro domed pistons, Duntov 30/30 cam, Crane roller tip rockers, Edelbrock RPM Perfomer intake, Holley 4160 carb, MSD distributor, MSD 6A ignition box, MSD programmable timing computer, MDS 8.5 wires, added electric fan, Heddman Jet-Hot coated shorty headers, Flowmaster cat-back. I fabricated a custom breather and PCV system so that I could keep the original aluminum Corvette valve covers on the engine (the original covers have no holes or baffles in them).
Drivetrain: rebuilt 700r4 with B&M shift kit, B&M Megashifter and Richmond 3:73 gears.
Exterior: repainted 4 years ago in my friend's garage (needs updating), installed late 80's ground effects and 1987 GTA rims on it, has fiberglass daytona hood.
Interior: last year I installed an original interior I took from a wrecked 1984 TA with only 40K miles on it. Kid hit a telephone pole in the winter and the front end was toast. I made custom flamed door panels, installed small stereo system, put 8" subs in the stock sail panel locations, have 7" Audiobahn LCD screen on the dash and PS2.
Future plans: I just bought a rust free 1984 TA minus engine and tranny for $400. Plan to do a "unibody-off" restoration over the next 1-2 years. I'll combine the best parts from my current car and this new one to make one bad *** TA. I also have a B&M Superjection setup (144 blower with fuel injection) and a NOS Powershot kit. I'm still undecided on if I should put these things on my current 327 or build a 383 stroker for them. Depends on what I have money for.
