This is my first car. I got it in July of 2005 from the original owners. At about 96,000 miles, the original engine blew, so sadly they replaced it with another 305 TBI. About 10,000 miles later, the car just stopped running and sat in their garage for 2 years. My dad saw it in a body shop parking lot with a For Sale sign laying down in the back seat. They got it running and we bought it for $4500. The interior is near perfect. The shifter plate has the corners chipped off, the passenger side front needs a new seat belt, needs new headliner (not badly), and the cigarette lighter went crazy so now i need a new one of those. The armrests had started to peel up and the zipper on the t-top case ripped out so i had those fixed. The exterior is also extremely good considering the car is 18 years old. There are a few door dings and scratches but nothing major. The paint is faded on the hatch lid and a little on the hood.
I've taken it to the dragstrip several times, very first run was a 16.9 at 81mph with a 2.47 60'. Since then, I've run a 16.2 at 84mph with a 2.3 60', but that was with open exhaust.
Right now my dad won't let me do any engine stuff so the 383 is going to have to wait for another couple years or so. As for now I'm just fixing the minor things and plan to do some suspension work. I already have a Cervini ram air hood but it isn't painted yet, and 3.73 posi gears and carrier which I won't put in for a while for fuel economy reasons.
I really hope that I never have to sell this car.
