MikeH's 1990 chevrolet IROC-Z
This is my IROC-Z i have owned this car for about 8 years. It was mostly stock when i bought it. Ive owned several older muscle cars. And fell in love with the thirdgen cars.

Ive rebuilt and modified just about everything on it. And what Im most proud of is i did all the work myself. Including the paint and body work!

The car is a 90 IROC-Z it came with the 5.7 and all the goodies. I drove this car for 5 years daily with zero problems. Its now a weekend play toy that i enjoy.

Ive always loved the torque of the 400sb chevy. I have built a few over the years. But when i added the SuperRam intake it really made for a torque monster!

The AC has a new compressor and blows ice cold. It gets hot in fla.

The Motor was built by me. It was rebuilt from top to bottom with all new parts.

400sb .030 over bore
stock crank turned and polished
resized stock 400 rods z28 oilpump
hyper flattop pistons with moly rings
Trickflow 23* heads with mild bowl work
Accel billet distributor
Accel SuperRam intake fully ported and polished by me
Accel SuperRam camshaft 224/234
BBK 58mm tb 30# SVO injectors

High flow Custom TPI air lid with 4" boot

After the pros couldnt get it right. All the tuning and chip work was done by me. And a big thanks to a certain forum member. you know who you are!

The Tranny is a 93 4l60 from GMPP with all the goodies! Installed a hayden cooler to help it live a long life. The rear is a PBR disc brake 3.27 9 bolt rear posi.

The exhaust is made up of SLP 1 3/4 headers for dual cat cars. A flowmaster dual 2.5" into 3.5" y-pipe. No cats, into a 3.5" mufflex catback with a Spintech muffler.

The suspension was rebuilt with stock and aftermarket stuff. The front has a AGR fast ratio box. New bushings and ball joints all new steering parts. Edelbrock stb, kyb shocks. The rear has hotchkiss panhard bar. Lakewood control arms, a 29,000 mile PBR 9 bolt rear. That i got from a guy whos car caught fire. shame it was a really nice bird. poly torque arm and tranny bushings.

The car has Hotchkiss subframe connectors in black powder coat.
I replaced the stock steel driveshaft with an aluminum one from a low mile GTA. Swapped out the factory dual fans, for an LS1 shroud and fans for better cooling.

The front brakes have been swapped out for a 1LE setup.

The interior is mostly stock in great shape was grey is now black. Has new black carpet, with later model graphite leather seats. I added a upper console with a working flashlight.

The paint is PPG omni AU black. I did all the prep and paint myself. I blocked the hood 5 times to get it straight. The car has 6 coats, i wanted to be able to color sand it thats why so many coats. I sprayed 3 coats, let that dry. Then wetsanded with 800 grit. Then sprayed 2 coats, then on the last coat. I sprayed a 50/50 mix of rts high solids clear and color.

I bought custom made decals for the hood and rear bumper. That say "6.6 SuperRam injection" to replace the 5.7 ones.

All the lights have been polished or replaced. so has most of the weatherstrips.

The rims are stock 16" 88-90 IROC rims. I had the rears widened to 9.5" and polished them myself. Tires are BFG G-FORCE sports 255/50 fronts and 255/50 rears.

BFG drag radials for fun!

working on installing a locking rear storage cover. will post pics when its done. Thanks to Pat Hall for helping me round up those little parts that i would not have found on my own.

Well..The rear storage cover is in and looks great!

Next i want to carpet the rest of the rear plastics to match the cover and rear panel. And repaint the engine bay.
