| 85 ZXX's 1985 Chevorlet Z28 Camaro | |||
| I bought this car for my son in 1995. It was the terror of the town in his high school days...aka..."BIG Z". In 2000 the Z was replaced by a 99 Cobra drop top SVT 4.6 5 spd. The Z was put out to pasture and used once in a blue moon for a few years. In 03 a job change forced the Cobra to a new owner and my son started driving the Z again. in 06, after 2 rears, 3 auto transmissions and 2 engines it was time to get a crate 350 engine. The mechanic put the new motor in and my son drove it a couple of miles and it cought fire. Dirt Dobbers closed up the vent on the 700R4 trans. The fire caused Major damage to the interior and electrics. We found a 89 IROC donor and had a local mechanic strip the manual trans elect, and so on to get his car going again. The work that was done was shabby at best. In 07, the fuel pump went out on it, He had a wife now and the Z got put out to pasture again. By this time people were driving by, stopping, making cheap offers for the Z. In Dec 08 I stepped in and bought it back from my son to restore as best as I can and promised him that It will not be sold to anyone but him. Now it is a work in progress and a slight money pit, but now I am having fun working on this car once again. |
