For example here is a 4th gen z28 with ZR1 rims. I photoshoped the spokes darker in the second picture and im pretty sure thats what i want. I would really love it if someone could find a red camaro with ZR1 rims (so i can photoshop the rims hehe). Click on the pictures to get them bigger.
So this is my car with those rims photoshoped on. Let me know what you guys think? I wish they sold them like this. I suppose its not hard to paint.
(yes i know my car is missing pieces. There on now. This is the only picture with a good angle for the wheels to fit.)
thats expensive. Im probably just gonna go with ZR1 rims. Any pictures please? Preferably a none lowered red iroc-z.
Actually, given the amount of work and skill needed, 200 bones is a bargain. Here in Europe that same service will cost you exactly 420$ per wheel and an additional 30$ for every inch over 1" width increase, so 3" extra costs 480$.
I was interested in having it done but no one wants to powdercoat and machine down the face of the rims. I hate chrome, I want the wheels to have that factory look but then much largers, like this (photoshop) If I could get those in 18 or 20" and at least 9.5" wide for the rear I would buy them yesterday
17s are becoming what 16s are now, not many tires available and if you get wide 17" rears the aspect ratio will be such that the rear tire will have a lower sidewall height than the front. Have seen it many times and it looks awful
Yeah I know what you mean. Since they still have a good selection for 17s im gonna go with those. And I plan on having the same tire size all the way around. Probably 275s.
Im actually bidding on a set of SS Zr1 rims as we speak. 3 hours left o mannn.

Totally agree. I like the stock look but in an increased size like 18x9.5 with the correct backspacing. And different finishes would be great too.
I don't like having to use these huge spacers to run the Vette wheels.
love it. Reminds me of older firebirds. As for performance maybe not those rims because you can't get wide enough 14" tires and the sidewalls are huge. But it definetely looks mean as hell. Lose the hood bra and wing though. Get a z28 iroc style lip edge spoiler. It'll look older. And if you want it real old style then fiberglass the edge spoiler in and it'll look like its part of it. My friend did that on his 83 and it looks good.
thanks for the tips, any one know where i can get a cowl hood with the extended cowl? you know the one that gets real close to the windshield, idk if they make em for the camaro ive seen em on stangs
i would want them in 16 inch - so i can put the disks on the back, but i love that design and they are cheap too. less than 100.00 each.
those are the outlaw wheels.
for some reason im not into wheels that are flat on the outside. i want to see a little debth in them. and i dont want them painted. i like my stock 15 inch 90 camaro rims but they are not wide enough and no read disks allowed.
Heres mine. I like the old muscle look. I will never put ground effects on mine. License plate ruins the whole pic but I had just got a fix-it ticket for that and tint. Notice our 95 Z in the background. The wheels are American Racing Outlaw II's in 235/60/15 BF Goodrich Radial T/A's
Here it is without the front plate, sooo much nicer.
Some pics of how it used to look like:

For everyone who PM'd me about more pics with the wheels:
That would look awesome with a slight drop. I would've gone with 18's or 19's but it still looks great. Is that the black chrome or just black/gunmetal?
Its strange how good stock rims look on a clean camaro. Obviously they only work on early thirdgens, but I think these rims look pretty damn nice. Skinny stock tires, but I like the look on that car more than the outlaws. Just my opinion though, nice car man!
any body ever get pics of the ruff racing 280 wheels on a car? i saw some 19 and 20 inch that i want to attempt to put on but want to know what they look like first on a car
Definately Stock Iroc Rims at 16inches, they are the best, hands down...
IMO Chrome Irocs look too... Rap Music Video, as does anything bigger than 17 inches, with the exception of Vette rims (do they come in 18?) with disc brakes.

here is a flash - the new camaro will have 18, 19 and 20 inch wheels.
like riding in a horse and buggy.
I have a set of 85 iroc wheels that are in better shape than most for their age but showing their age. What could I do to spruce them up? Can they be polished at home, if so what do I need? Or would it be better to send them to someone that restores them with new clearcoat?

If you do a search this has been talked about several times. Here is some help. Took me 5 minutes
They are diffusers for racing. That car is sick! It's had so many engines it's unreal. All forced inducted too. I don't remember the names of the rims though.
I know this is an old thread but I had to take part in it
Personally while I think a lot of these wheels (above) look great, especially the ones Grey Goose posted, I have come to the point that I am absolutely sick of the standard 5 spoke look. It seems like every wheel maker has a hundred different ways to make the same wheel look different, yet after looking at a hundred of them they all start to look the same. So, when I picked out my wheels I photoshopped a lot of them onto my car along with changing the color of my car to what it will be after I get it painted. Here is what I picked, they got delivered today and I'm having them put on tonight...
