Boyd wheels Tyre Choice?

Hi Guys
Have been rebuilding my third gen now for a 6 months.
I have the wheels now from Boyd Coddingtons
8x18 front with 235x40=18 but on the rear not sure how to go as I have 9x18 I know someone with 10x18 he has 285x35=18 but has had susspension mods
and had arches smoothed out.
I do not want to alter the arches at this stage.
I was thinking of maybe 265x35=18
Has anybody used this combo?
Cheers

Click that site. I ran them tires. They were 245/40/18's. I hope that helps. I have worked in tires for 5 years. I heard this was the closest size to no suspension mods.
Good Luck

Re: Boyd wheels Tyre Choice?

I'm runnin boyd's right now - my rears are 18x10, with 275/35/18. If you set your offset and backspace right, they'll tuck w/no fender work at all. I have 18x8's up front with a stock profile, and the car is 1.6" lower up front, and 1.3" lower in the rear, and i don't scrape anywhere. Stock ride height you definitely shouldn't. I can fit about the width of my middle finger between the back of the rubber/tire and the well in the back. Out front it's cutting it even closer, but they don't rub. I'd highly advise against boyd if you haven't purchased them yet, and push you towards someone like chip foose. One of my rims is out of round pretty bad, the finish on another is questionable, and they took forever to get. I got them and just dealt w/it, but next time around 100% i'm not going boyd. Not to mention he sold his rim production to american racing.

Re: Boyd wheels Tyre Choice?

Not bad i have a discount with alot of rim places and was looking at a wheel called the KMC 820 SS in black with a chrome lip. BUT they are discontinued they were 325 each i could get for 150. So now im lost. I love the torque thrust 2 but i want a 5 spoke 18" wheel just like it but with out the price.. Anyone else you know running a nice 5 spoke in a 18 or bigger. I do also love CHIPS Nitrous wheels thats a fave.
Also the AR Rebel. do you have any pics
