Any thoughts on this? I happen to have a nice set of restored 15x7 snowflake/honeycomb rims that came on 77-81 Firebirds and TA. They were for another project and that was sold.
I have the typical stock, ugly dull gold honeycomb 15x7 rims on now with BF Goodrich Radial TA 215/65 R15 tires.
Any thoughts on fitment? I realize lug nuts and center caps will need to be replaced, but...
I've seen a pic of an early 82 base model that looked pretty good with snowflakes on it. I teased the idea on my 92 but I stuck with the GTAs. I'm a bit partial though since my 77 has snowflakes.
They look sexy.
I have the 15x8 version.
There's a picture that I posted on this site MANY times, you could probably find it if you searched, I can't find it on my computer here...
My '82 T/A and one of my '84 T/As have WS6 and came from the factory with 15"x7" rims and 4-wheel-disc brakes. There is tons of room between the brakes and the rim.
The only clearance issues I could see happening with 14" and 15" rims are with the front 1LE option 12" brake rotor and PBR twin piston calipers and possibly the '89-92 1LE/J65 PBR rear disc setup.

Well, installed the rims today and the rear calipers are rubbing big time. It's a 92 Firebird with upgraded rear end from an 89 Iroc with disc breaks. My stock gold 15x7 rims worked fine. I didn't think the offset was that different, but looks to be an issue.
I have two choices to make. Either put a spacer in and move the wheel out a bit or grind the fins down a bit on the caliper.
Has anyone seen that black car up top in person? Is he running spacers because he rear wheels look like they stick out some. I've seen an RS camaro with those wheels and they didn't stick out like they appear to.

That's what i am going to do now. I ground down the fins and it still needs a bit more clearance. I have 7/32" spacers that I am going to install on the rears. The front are fine.
Thanks!!!!
The pictures shows stock 92 lug nuts and caps, but tomorrow I am installing chrome mag lugs made for this style wheel.
Just wandering through.. The snowflakes look amazing! I had my doubts at the top of the message board. Gotta be a pain in the rear to keep clean but it looks worth it. Nice combo.
How about the new 17" wheels from year one? They would look awesome on a 3rd gen Pointiac IMO, they look awesome on the 2nd gens.... I thought about putting them on the Camaro but Pontiac wheels on a Chevy is not done IMO
