295/50 r16 - Third Generation F-Body Message Boards

Ive read all of the forums and know that these tires will fit, but i wanted advice from everyone whose actually ran these tires. I want wide tires but considering how wide they are on the rim how is cornering, and how does it look in the fender wells?

I imagine taking hard turns on those tires will roll them of the wheel. Don't do it, looks neat, great for drag racing, not for competitive or hard driving/cornering though.

i have 275/60 15 and i can tell you they barely fit. just managed to get past the rubber stops. i got my pics up but not of the underside.
but i know if you run search you will find lots of pics and a good number of people run the 295's.
as to width - your rims are 8 inches and they will handle the 295's - but you are at the edge of safe if you are going to be doing some hard cornering.

while some dont like it, i love the look of a nice fat bulging tire filling all the wheel well up.

here is another site with some comparisons and if you run your tire size, forget the what car are you driving part, you can get all available info. the bfg shows up so click it and then click the details and it will give you data. unfortunately i dont know a site where bfg gives you tread width, but is you look at cooper - they give actual tread with in addition to sidewall to sidewall width. http://www.performanceplustire.com/p...res#prodAnchor

Those tires (the BFG in those size) aren't a sticky tire. Go with a 245/50 or 255/50 with a sticky compound. It will offer better performance than those will.

thanks for the feedback, i was only considering it, they are more expensive and only made by cooper and bf goodrich so i was already more leaning towards keeping the 245's on it.
