GTA Wheels

I have the gold spoke gta wheels on my 89 gta. I was thinking about buying the black style ones instead but I would like a 9" wide rim. Does anyone know the weight of the stock gta wheels? Are they considered "light" or not? I was looking at the black torque thrust 2's on ebay. They are cheaper and wider than the stock wheels.

Re: GTA Wheels

They are very light. I want to say they're 16lbs each.

Re: GTA Wheels

16lbs each & the lightest factory 3rd gen wheel made.

But being 16"s, that also limits your choices in tire size. By going to a 17", you can get better choices in tire width, if that is what you want.

You could always have them widened to 9" & painted/powder coated black, but your still limited on available street tires sizes. A 9" wheel isn't gonna give you much better options, than a 8" wheel, simply because the options don't exist.

Yep.

Only problem/limit you might encounter, is the turning radius. Since they set out a little further, there might be some tire rub, at full turn. Also depends on lowering/which would happen with ANY wheel.
