Smallest tire to fit on GTA rim?

What is the most thin tire that can fit on my 16x8 gta front wheel? I was thinking 215, but could it b 205? I want a 50 series tire...any input is greatly appreciated!

Re: Smallest tire to fit on GTA rim?

and why do you want a skinny tire?
i have no proof but i think 205 will fit fine. 195 would probably be pushing it as far as you want to go

I want some skinnies for the front for less friction when I am racing. I have an extra set og GTA wheels sitting around and want to configure them for drag racing.

Re: Smallest tire to fit on GTA rim?

there is almost no advantage getting skinnier tire up front with same size wheel, but running a smaller skinnier wheel up front could help. As far as fitting the tires you can probably put 195 on there no problem if you find the right person

You could have your GTA wheels narrowed to fit whatever tire you want to fit.

Just a thought.

Re: Smallest tire to fit on GTA rim?

thats a much better idea.
get them narrowed to 5 inches or so and put real skinnies on them
just adding skinny tires to a stock wheel will get you nowhere
you would have better luck inflating them to 70 psi if you were after less rolling resistance

Not the only place that modifies wheels, but I had my 9" Snypers widened to 11" by http://www.wheelsamerica.com

Re: Smallest tire to fit on GTA rim?

GTA wheels are 16x8, and 8 inches is 203.2mm, so I'd say a 205 would be the narrowest without looking retarded (like the honda pictured above).

I can't believe that picture, I am still looking at it like how is that holding air? Is that really the rim, or is it a trim ring or something?
