Question about 15x8 wheels

Hey guys, just trying to figure out if a set of 15x8 wheels with 5.50 in backspacing will fit on a 89 camaro. It has a stock 10 bolt with drum brakes. I am also planing on putting 275 60 15 tires on these wheels. The car will be lowered 2 inches in the rear also.. Will this combination fit.

Thanks,
Paul

Re: Question about 15x8 wheels

Not on the front it wont. On the rear, they'd be awfully far under. Look for a 4.5" backspace, aka a zero offset. That's excellent for all 4 corners. Then think more like a set of 245/60R15s.

Re: Question about 15x8 wheels

well, like i said, I want these just for the rear. Im using 15x4's up front. Anyway, I want to use a wheel that will go far into the wheel well. I dont want them to stick out at all. I figured a 5.5 in offset would be best for that. I also heard that 275 tires will fit on an 8 inch wheel.

Re: Question about 15x8 wheels

Thank you for the reply. I am going to order a set of these now. How do you feel about lowering the rear 2 inches. Will the tires rub?

Re: Question about 15x8 wheels

no they shouldn't. i've lowered mine another 3/4" last night and still have more room to go. Make sure your rear is centered laterally correct.
