15 x 8 - Choosing backspacing and offset

I have a 92 Camaro Z28 with Weld Racing Rodlite wheels. The front wheels have 265/50/15 BF Goodrich Radial T/A tyres and the rear wheels have 295/50/15s. They are BIG and rear tyres are too large for my liking and I want to change them for smaller tyres!

I know a lot of you guys will be like but they are just not to my taste!

I suspect the wheels are too large for smaller tyres such as 275/50/15s which I can get hold of, so I need to purchase rims that are less wide. I have narrowed down to three variations of the wheel that each have the bolt pattern of 5 x 4 3/4'' (5 x 120.7), 8'' wide and 15'' dia, they'll fit the tyres I want but I've no idea about how to work out suitable backspacing and offset.

Can anyone please suggest a suitable backspacing and offset?

Re: 15 x 8 - Choosing backspacing and offset

From ones I've used before, a stock fit would be a 15x8 with a 4.75" backspace. As far as off the shelf stuff, you can use either a 4.5" or 5.5" backspace.
