Factory wheel weights?

I've searched and read up on weight reduction and wheels but can't seem to find a nice breakdown of the weights of all the different third gen wheels.

I've read that the crosslace GTA wheels are the lightest, but I couldn't find exact numbers and I have no idea about the differences between the two deep dish style and the one deep lipped style hi-tech turbo wheels.

I'm particularly interested in the weight of the 15x7 turbo's. They seem heavy and I really want to get my car's weight down from 3500.

Does anyone know how the different Firebird and Camaro wheels compare weight wise? Thanks.

Re: Factory wheel weights?

I dont know about any other wheel besides the GTA, but The crosslace wheels were chosen for the GTA because they were the lightest. I know that the GTA source page has more info about it if you are interested.

Thanks, that site is pretty interesting. Anyone have any idea how the Formula WS6 16x8 deep dish wheels compare with the regular 15x7 firebird deep dishes?

Re: Factory wheel weights?

Took the back wheel off the other day to mess with the brakes and thought of this old thread so I threw it on the scale... the 15" hi-tech turbo Firebird/ early Trans Am wheels weigh about 20lbs a piece with center caps and without tires, in case anyone wonders.

Anybody know how much the factory Camaro RS wheels weigh? Talking about these:

Need to know how much weight savings I can get by going with lighter wheels.
