Crleaning up clear coated lip on gta rims
I've searched through old threads on here but couldn't find the answer I was looking for, I just bought gta rims with brand new tires already on and balanced, I wanna clean up the clear coat on the aluminum lip since the clear is in good condition, would rubbing compound work? I read somewhere it can be too harsh but i figure it shouldn't matter since they are clear coated and not bare metal. Any other suggestions?

a fine to medium scratch remover compound is ok & works good with a foam polish ball on a drill

I need to remove the clear from my GTA wheels and polish them up, but the centers look ok. Aircraft stripper would strip (or at least discolor) the centers too right?

the last time i used it i got it from belle tire store if i remember correctly aircraft stripper is almost the same thing & you might get that from the auto parts store or a paint supply yes it will damage the painted sections on the wheel you will need to sand those & repaint them & try not to get it on your tires use a paint brush to apply it & wipe it off your tire right away if you get any on it & it should be fine
