wider tires

so right now im running stock suspension height with stock 16" rims and for tires im running 245 50 16 i want to run a wider rear tire than front but want to keep my fronts a 245 50 so what size tire that is the same height tire as a 245 50 but wider by a inch or 2
a 145 50 16 is H: 25.6" W:9.65"

so i want something that is 25.6" by like 11" or 12" for my rear tires

Re: wider tires

I ran a 255/50/16 without any issues in the past. Not sure if you can go larger or not, Mike

Re: wider tires

You are barking up the wrong tree in a wide 16" tire with a stock 25.75" height, not much available in 245-50-16 or 255-50-16, everything wider is either extinct, or extremely hard to find these days.

An 11" tire is going to spec out at a 275-45-16, which as far as I know is not available at all.

Re: wider tires

11 inch wide tires on a 16" wheel for these cars just doesnt make sense. The tires just arent available for them and 11" is 3" wider than the wheel.

Re: wider tires

He said stock 16's so we can only assume 8. Even if it were a 16x12 it's not like there's street tires out there in that size.

Re: wider tires

Yes, it’s always confused me a little when someone says they want to know how wide of a tire they can run saying nothing more than stock 16s or stock 15s.

I think a 255 looks great on my 15in x 8in rear wheels. Not only that but a 255 is as wide of a tire I would put on an 8in wheel.

As has been said theres not much to choose from.
I found this = http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....omCompare1=yes

Re: wider tires

ok so a 255 45 would be the size i would have to go
and i think the stocks are 16x8 and i like the wide tire look on the rear with skinnier tires up front one of my co workers has a 1970s camaro with N50s on the back and hes running 8" wide rims and spacers to clear them so thats what i was looking to do but n50s only come for a 15" rim so i was looking for something close but for a 16" rim
