I know that there is a set of ramps at Advance Auto Parts called Rhino Ramps. They are made out of a plastic like polymer and are a little wider than your average ramps. Check them out and see if they're what you need.

I have the Rhino Ramps and both my cars with the 275/40/17 rubber have plenty of clearance on the sides...

Thanks guys for your replies. I have 275/40/17s also. Jimbo where did you get yours? I live in California and I do not think there is any Advance Auto Parts stores around here. Checked a few places around here but have not seen any but will keep looking.

Guys: Do these Rhino ramps still neeed an extension in front so you don't scrape the front air dam and Trans Am low front end??. My current old ramps only work on my truck, No clerance for the 91 Trans. Thanks for any info.

I have a 2 inch drop, and I BARELY squeeze by onto them. I probably should use a 2x4 or something before the ramp, but I manage by.

Yeah the Rhino Ramps work good with wide tire cars and the slope on them is gradual, the recessed airdam on my Formula cleared so I doubt the TA airdam would be a problem, but I dunno. BTW, dont let the car on the ramps for too long. My header install took a little longer than expected (week and a half) and I could see the sides of the ramps starting to bind about a week after I put it on it, shouldve used jackstands, but hey, it was only supposed to take a weekend.
