Aftermarket Exhaust

I currently have a stock exhaust in a 1991 RS 305 TBI and I have started researching aftermarket exhaust possibilities. Anyone have any suggestions? What brands/models will fit on my car? Where can I have them installed? What brands/models have the best sound/performance? How much can I expect to pay for the parts/labor? Thanks for any info you can provide.

IMO, the best cat-back exhaust I've seen is the SLP 2 on the left. It's stainless steel so it won't rust, it fits great (from what I've heard), it outflows most if not all of the competetion, and last but not least it sounds mean as hell. The only downside to it which really comes down to personal preference, is the fact that it has 2 tailpipes on one side rather than pipes on both sides. At first I didn't care for the 2 on the left idea but now it's grown on me.

I myself decided to shell out the big bucks on a Borla adjustable cat-back. After seeing and hearing a borla cat-back on a 4th gen I had my mind made up that's what I was gonna have. Well unfortunately, the 3rd gen Borla doesn't hold a candle to the 4th gen system. It sounds good I'll give it that, but everything else about it is trash, absolute trash. What a waste of $500.

As for installation, I strongly suggest you do it yourself. That was the first mod I ever did to my car and there's really nothing to it. If you have a jack and a set of wrenches, you could easily have your exhaust replaced in a few hours. Hell it only took me about 4 hours to install my borla, and let me tell you that was the worst fitting pos I've ever seen. However you'll find that most brands like the SLP, edelbrock, etc. are actually made to fit your vehicle and not a universal fit like mine was.

I like applied technologies set-up its all 3" stainless cat back great deep rumble sound not the hollow sound like flowmaster. Its expensive but I thought it was worth it.
Picture from their catalog off my site:

This is for the turbo ta but it will work for regular camaro's and birds too.

Beware of the SLP 1 3/4 Headers on a L98 350 GTA 5Spd. The #6 exhaust runner hits a standard size plug (on straight plug heads). It would be alot easier with angled plug heads (which is EXACTLY the opposite of footnote #12 I think,,, by, you got it, SLP in their marketing literature, web, phone). We dimpled & used shorty Accel plugs, as well as angled wires. The headers also rub against the steering column.
My friend is using Edelbrock headers with no problems on a 88 GTA 305.
