They go for about $100... Sometimes more if it's complete with the air cleaner/harness etc...

Sorry about the negative comments, but they are right. The crossfire set-up was not very reliable and it's more likely a person would want to get rid of it, than buy it. But who knows, those that still have one, or have a nice original ride may need parts.

Yeah, but the cool factor far outweighs the negatives of the system. I was told the base is the most restrictive part and there is a company that makes a replacement for it. As far as I know, you can also run it with the later tbi wiring and computer.

Damn, I got beat. If 82TA ends up not wanting the intake manifold, PM me! I'm looking for one to port to put on my 83 Z. I don't want to try it out on mine and be ****ed because I screwed up.

And to those who don't like crossfire, yes its restrictive but its awesome to drive on the street.

AFAIK there is nobody who makes an aftermarket base manifold for CFI, but if you know otherwise please post a link, there'd be quite a few people on the vette forums who'd love to know that. From a performance standpoint CFI is pretty much worthless, its even worse than tpi when it comes to making power.

the only aftermarket manifold is the X-Ram...but then your Crossfire isn't a TRUE Crossfire. Basically it's just a better flowing intake for a carb setup, with a modified top plate for the throttle bodies. I've heard good and bad about it, but with bigger engines, it's probably better to go that route to get more airflow.

At a glance it will look stock, but it's not a true crossram setup.

I am aware of the x-ram but I was refering to something thats more of simple replacement highperformance base manifold like an accel unit for a tpi system for example.

I don't remember what the company was, it may have been the X-ram you speak of. It was a link someone posted on their ebay auction several years ago. I just remember the company sold a better manifold and aftermarket TB's.

I've got one on top of a 350 in my '83. Nice grunt down low, no numbers but I can shift into all gears but 5th below 2k rpm smoothly and without bogging. Not sure how that compares to other motors, but I sure like keeping rpms down for in-town driving. But yeah, there isn't really a "punchy" part of the "power band". I'd actually like to put it in an s-10 and maybe try one of the offenhauser or smokey ram mods.
