Who makes a nosiey gear drive timing set for out cars??

I looked in Jegs and Summit, the Edelbrock, Pete Jackson and Dynagear are not made in the *nosiey* configurations for our cars with the roller cams, just regular old small blocks.

Just a note...

If you are still using the knock sensor in your setup you will need to de-sensitize it. The gear drive will likely cause it to retard your timing.

No one makes a noisy gear drive for roller cammed engines. The best you can do is a Pete Jackson quiet gear drive. There are a lot of guys out there who believe or been told that we cannot run a gear drive with a knock sensor. This is not true. I've run one for almost three years.... no false knock confirmed by Auto Xray. I also know a handful of others who have run this gear drive successfully.

Dan, save yourself the trouble and just go with a double roller timing chain.

I've known quite a few people whos car never ran quite correctly again with the gear drive.

Car: '89 Pontiac Firebird
Engine: 5.7L
Transmission: 700R4
Axle/Gears: 10-bolt w/ 4.10 and Eaton Posi
Had a gear drive for the most of four years.(switched to a true roller for a bit but when back to the gear drive)

No false knocks and no timing retard....

And just the right amount of whine...

And who says we can't put them in our car??? I'd love to show them it can be done...

I have the Pete Jackson quiet gear drive... Easy to install too..

OK, you want a noisy gear drive? Here is what you can do........

Buy the "quiet" Pete Jackson gear drive. Then, send it back to Pete Jackson in Glendale, CA and tell him you want it converted to the noisy type. The only difference, according to Pete who I talked with about this last year, is the machined cut of the gear teeth and he will swap them for you so you can have a noisy "roller cam" gear drive.

It's not the same for non-roller cam engines.
