Review: Lakewood drag products & Energy Suspension review

I got a set of almost new Lakewood drag struts/shocks installed on my IROC yesterday and this is my review of it. I got some pics below of the install work done too.

1.) The handling combined with the new Energy Suspension front sway bar links and the Lakewood struts has made alot of difference for the little handling tests I've done so far.

2.) The front drag struts are a ratio of 70/40. Cornering is alot better too. Firmer and more to the ground.

3.) Braking is great but louder with the front suspension being alot stiffer.

4.) The rear drag shocks are really good too. The ratio on those are 50/50 which I think is the same for the stock Delco shocks. In fact the shocks removed were the factory Delco shocks which still had some life in them.

5.) Rear end handling is alot better with the Energy Suspension rear sway bar links too!

6.) My hooking with my Falken high performance street tires is alot better with this drag set-up. I'm not spinning nothing like before and it's alot firmer on take off. Should shave a couple tenths off.

This is my review of a great and expensive brand might I add. It's worth the money to spend on and once I've driven on this more I'll add a extra note on this review. I put about 350 miles since yesterday morning into earlier today, so I've got a feel for them.

70/30's wont be too bad on the street. for drag only 90/10 are best. but no good for street use. im glad you bought products and are happy with them! let us know if they shave any off of your e.t.'s

You mean 70/40's? Lol. I can tell a good difference on take off from a red-light. However, because all of this snow/ice is still melting it's made the roads wet so I haven't really been able to test out take off's too much. I did a few maneuvers at 70mph on the highway to see how the car did when I jerked it from the left to the right and back and forth a few times. It is more solid and I'm not afraid of losing control.

I forgot to mention that for the street the ratio I have is the best option because like you said, the 90/10 wouldn't be good for the street/highway. I looked up these shocks/struts on their website and other sites and these bank for $110 each! Guess what I paid for them? $150 for the struts and the shocks. They only had 500 miles on them and were previously used on a LS1 car. Then they sat for a year before the guy who owned them put them up for sale.

I meant 70/30's cause the two numbers have to equal 100. You were incorrect sir.

I was going off the specs given to me by the seller. I couldn't have known I was wrong.
