QA1 Strut Tower Brace

I just bought this from summit and was not happy with the fit at all, has anyone else had any experience with this product or does anyone know of a strut tower brace that fits better?

The angle of the bracket seems funny and the bolts that hold the brace to the brackets seemed to be long enough not big enough around to hold it firmly in place. I just dont want it if its going to fit bad and rattle going down the road.

Re: QA1 Strut Tower Brace

Try putting a washer under it, it'll keep it right and hold it down better

If everything is adequately tightened, there should be no issues.

Re: QA1 Strut Tower Brace

I expected it to bolt right up to where the strut comes through, the fit just seemed awkward in general and like the angle of the bracket didn't match. I ended up shipping it back cuz it seemed pretty sketchy.

Re: QA1 Strut Tower Brace

sounds more like you didn't know what you're doing, which is not the fault of qa1 or any other manufacturer for that matter.

most of the strut tower braces i've seen require drilling holes in the strut tower.

Re: QA1 Strut Tower Brace

I realize that now but I've never installed one so I didn't know. It didn't seem like the best quality so its not going in my car, simple as that. Plus their customer service people were idiots also so I think its safe to assume that the problem is on their part and not mine. But thanks anyway for the condescending non-informative response dude

Re: QA1 Strut Tower Brace

hey you're welcome! i love to see all these posts put up bashing companies from people that don't know what the heck they're doing with their cars!

a quick photo of the situation at hand would have let us as a community help fix your problem.

Re: QA1 Strut Tower Brace

Ok I'm not bashing the company I'm just putting this out there so people can avoid the experience I just had and just buy a better product in the first place. If you love these guys so much why dont you put one on your car and lets see how great you think it is then. Also I don't know everything about my car and every part that's available for it but I'm sure that you don't either so screw off

Re: QA1 Strut Tower Brace

my car is a drag car, no need for a strut tower brace. we do, however, have a set of their single adjustable shocks on the rear of another car, and they work fine.

check out edelbrock for a strut tower brace that should work well with your tbi car. be prepared to drill holes in your strut tower and cowl area though.

Re: QA1 Strut Tower Brace

If I buy another one I'll probably go with edelbrocks but I had a second snorkel welded into my air cleaner and connected it to a tpi intake so I'm not even sure that it would fit under there, I was thinking about making my own so I could have exactly what I want

Re: QA1 Strut Tower Brace

Edelbrock sold their brace/design to QA1. For a look at the Edelbrock/QA1 brace installed, check my vbGarage (shedlike icon next to my online status).

Re: QA1 Strut Tower Brace

Yeah I dont know what the deal was. Yours looks fine but I thought mine was strange so I asked my dads opinion because he's been working on his cars since the 60's and has installed STBs before and he thought it looked like a bad fit also
