we have over 300 orders for double din bezels to make for all the cars we offer them for as well as the 57 audio shops around the US we make them for as well. We are working as fast as we can to get them made. We appreciate all the orders and if there was a way to make them faster we would surely work on it.

how does the texture compare to the rest of the car? Does it look pretty stock?

Could you add a few pictures from a little further back. Just to see how it would look not so close up.

How does the HVAC fit, it looks a bit skewed? Or is that just the angle of the pictures?

As promised. Here are my pics. I agree, the texture isn't perfect, but it's really close. I actually think the screws bother me more than the texture (will have to fix that). They use an original trim and plastic weld it to fit properly because it has to be raised and lowered then they spray paint it which is why you lose some of the texture, but I am very happy with it.

Awesome detail on the install guys! One observation- would swapping the heater control position for the radio reduce the need for the heater duct mods? I haven't torn into my trans ams (plural) myself, but flipping the controls eased install on a Fox body mustang with a similar flip face double din radio. Any critiques, ideas or experience out there? Also I considered scratch building the face out of scrap aluminum- I could high tech up the details plus TIG weld some brackets for the hell of it!

How dare you talk about a Fox Body Mustang (or any Ford) on my thread!!!!...I just spent ALL DAY doing the power steering pump AND Rack and pinion on my chick's '87 LX Stang 5.0 Hahaha! What a pain in the a$$! But to be honest, when ever I drive her car, I'm looking at the stereo trying to figure out Double Din options myself!

oh good...I was worried the guys here weren't fanatical like the MOPAR guys! lol I own GM and Ford...I don't hold any grudges (except those annoying Honda Civics!) Im just trying to avoid messing with the AC plumbing under the dash of my Trans Am, plus Im dying to get a touch screen/DVD player.

Anyone thinking of doing this themselves may want to do it.

I just got mine from double d and i am not impressed.

The texture is almost smooth and there are areas that are not even black, they must have missed when painting it.

Lets just say i will be doing my own for my other Camaro.

This will not fit early firebirds, the center console and bezel are totally different

I have a 91 Trans Am I installed a Pioneer Avic-8000NEX in it. I made the Double Din Bezel myself but am having a hard time reproducing the checkered effect on it. The solid black is nice but trying to match. I will post a pic when I can. Fits great! The sirius radio piece fits under the console no problem as well as both usb and hdmi cable. Looks awesome! 7" display! It folds down to allow access to the dvd and media card clears the console easily.

I don't see any pictures of double din radios with the HVAC controls that came with the digital dash Firebirds. I bet they are taller.

I installed a pioneer avh 8400 in my 88 gta with digital dash, hvac fits perfectly. didn't even have to modify it.

I can't even fathom how a double DIN would even fit in the pod without cutting out the bottom of it.

Update
Had to do a paypal dispute and Double D would not even respond to Paypal. So, it took 17 weeks but I got my money back. Don't waste your hard earned money with them.

Curious: I literally have that exact stereo to put in my 1987 TA. Is there any way to get a double din bezel? There was a more recent post around here but cant find it. I dont have access to a 3D printer either.

They went out of business after screwing so many customers over. Tons of places make them now though.
