Yeah, I have lived in London most of my life. I did go to college in Somerset for a few years.

The nice thing about London is I can jump on I-75 quickly and head north or south when I want a road trip. Not to mention having London Dragway just a few miles away.

I have been to Cincinnati several times. I have a old friend that live up around the Colerain area plus my wife has family in Hamilton around 5 point. Been to Louisville several times also. We use to go to Indianapolis to Coparts and pick up some wrecks.

Looks like a nice box. How thin is it behind the passenger side head?

The box I bought has a good taper and seems to be not as thick.

That's cool for him to offer. If I did not have one already, I would take him up on that.

3 1/4" thick on my stock one at the motor.

From looking at it, yours must raise the motor up some to clear the fenderwell. Not that it would matter, just looks too close on mine as is.

I'm suprised more haven't ordered this though. Since factory ones aren't always avalible, not too mention the weight savings!

Hmm, maybe I should sell mine and get one of these?hmmmm

Yeah, It has that extra inch for the stock a/c blower motor. It does have a nice taper under the motor for more clearance with the fenderwell and on the end beside the passenger side head. It shouldnt interfere with the #8 plug like the factory a/c box. That thing was huge.

Now I need to add a nipple/fitting of some sort for the vacuum line. Any ideas?

I bought mine from him Tuesday for full price. Haven't got it in yet. I have one question you guys might be able to answer. Is the heater core the same also?

Are you asking if the A/c heater core is the same as the non a/c heater core?
I would assume yes.

Just got mine in its very solid and smooth. Worth it over the hawks box. I would advise anyone looking at buying one should take this offer while it lasts.

Re: Ebay non a/c heater box

The ebay ad in the posted link says $119.95 with free ground shipping. Where does the $124.95 come from that the seller mentioned in his message to you where he said he'd take $10 off for a total price of $114.95? Shouldn't our price be $109.95, or did I miss something? And the ad currently says only 2 remaining. It's not a priority for me at this time, so do you know if there's a timeline for the next run?

The box that Hawk's sells is from acdelete: http://www.acdelete.com/pages/82-92_F-body.htm

Looks like he revised the add on Feb 27th. Now it says 5 available, so i'm sure there are no problems of running out. You can send him a message on eBay or here on thirdgen. He recently became a member under the same name.

You could always make a offer and see if he accepts.

Re: Ebay non a/c heater box

I done some work last night. I got it mocked up and took some pics. I should have them ready to post later today. The fit was good, but I did have to trim some on the flange. Not much, maybe a 1/8 of an inch because it was too close to the heater core inlet/outlet. I will post pics of the spot I had to trim.

Bad news is that my MSD box will not fit on the top of the box without one corner hanging off. I was thinking of installing it inside in the original ecu spot anyway so no big deal.

Re: Ebay non a/c heater box

Pics are here.

http://www.fquick.com/garages/viewga...=3&carid=31671

Don't mind the scratches, the box was in great shape when it came in. I need to paint it and add the weather stripping. I also have to find a fitting for the vent tube that goes to the blower motor.

Over look the wiring. I have to re-route a few things and do some cleanup. I am going to get rid of the blue loom and go with the black braided split loom that is on the newer cars. Just another project this spring.

What do you guys think.

Re: Ebay non a/c heater box

How'd the install turn out? I have the same box and am having a minor issue. My blower motor is actually 2 pieces, there is a small bracket that attaches to the motor housing. I'm guessing there is a minor difference between years since mine is a 91. Is your blower motor one piece, no extra brackets?

My motor is a 89 and is one piece.

I have it bolted on and it fits great. I just need to paint it and install a fitting for the air tube that runs to the motor. I found a fitting that I think will work.

Re: Ebay non a/c heater box

Reviving this year-old thread. The vendor hasn't been on TGO for almost a year, and the ebay ad has long since expired, but I've PM'd him, and I'm hoping he's still interested in making/selling these delete boxes.

It seems like an excellent product, maybe the best of its kind for 3rdgens, the price was the best too, and I'm interested in purchasing one right now. So hopefully others are interested too, and maybe we can generate a renewed interest in the product.

Re: Ebay non a/c heater box

The original link in this thread said the ad had expired, but provided a link to a relisting. Then clicking the link to the relisting, it said "page not found." That's as much as I'm ever going to search ebay for anything lol. But thanks. Good to know they're still available.

What did you end up doing for the blower motor vent tube?

I ended up using a transmission cooler line fitting. It has a nut on the inside that tightens down. Then the tube just slips on the fitting.

Re: Ebay non a/c heater box

Reviving this thread to remind everyone about these ac delete boxes. They are still available.

During a recent visit to Florida, I got in touch with the producer of these fiberglass ac delete boxes, met him and bought one from him. Very nice product; very nice seller. These are nicer than other fiberglass ac delete boxes made for 3rdgens, lower priced too, and they're probably going to be nicer than most factory ac delete boxes people might. And unlike factory boxes, these will accept your car's existing ac blower motor, fan cage, and resistor. A couple of pics are below.

This seller also produces a delete plate in the appropriate shape that covers the firewall for deleting the box and all parts associated with the ac or heater.
