Aftermarket Ideas for a '91 Z28?
I sold my '82 Z28 about 6 months ago and I'm starting to miss it, unfortunately the kid I sold it to made a mockery of the car and screwed it up badly. On my end I found a pretty decent '91 Z28 that is fuel injected (old one had carbed 350 swap) that I'm buying in the next week or so. Does anyone have any ideas on what is a good aftermarket place to get parts or what parts I should get? I like power, good sound, and good looks. So from cosmetics to superchargers is what I'm looking for, all suggestions are welcome!

suspension parts I goto Founders Performance, great quality parts, prices are also one of the best you will find.

I would first figure out what is worn out and broken. Then I would start to figure what your end game is with this car. Like what are your goals for it. Make a list of what parts you want need and work off of that. research on how to reach that goal like what parts are needed and so on.
Make your self a budget too! It can get way expensive waaay to quickly.

I know I want a healthy amount of power, and I want to be able to turn heads. Definitely lay down some rubber and show the Civics around here that you don't put all your money in mufflers and body kits.

Are you doing the work your self?
What is your budget?
Do you know what is broken/ worn out ?
Does this car have any mods already?
Will you be doing a motor swap or keeping the motor? 350 or 305?
The more details we have, the better we can help you.

Are you doing the work your self? - Yes, unless the application is really complicated, in which case I'll take it in.
What is your budget? - Total, around 5K. Each individual part I can average around 200-300
Do you know what is broken/ worn out ? - Thermostat needs replaced, but that's it
Does this car have any mods already? - No mods, clean, unadulterated canvas to work with.
Will you be doing a motor swap or keeping the motor? 350 or 305? - 350

Re: Aftermarket Ideas for a '91 Z28?
Remember to be realistic about power expectations, with good heads, cam and intake and still being streetable one of these cars with a 350 and no power adder can go mid to low 12s, which is respectable and enough to be fun. Newer Corvettes can go high elevens, new Camaros and probably Mustangs with drag radials are said to be able to go into the 12s.
I think if the car is in good shape you can spend the $5K on just the exterior/interior/engine dress up/wheels to make it a show car, or throw it in the drive train to make a drag car, or throw it in the suspension/brakes/tires to make an autocross/road race car. Or spend $5K here and there freshening it up and upgrading a few parts so that the car can somewhat accomplish all of that.
But for $5K you won't have a car that can do great on a autocross, run an 11 sec 1/4 mile and then win a trophy in the car show. So I would say decide what purpose you want the car to serve and then start planning.

I would say to do some of the other maintenance items that you may forget to do like change the brake fluid if the previous owner can't remember when he did it. Also change the trans and differential fluid too.
For aftermarket parts, get subframe connectors, a limited slip diff, and 3.42 or higher gear ratio.
After that, you should know what you want to make it better.
