OER door sills from classic industries
So I ran across reproduction door sills on the classic industries website for our cars. I did a search on here and couldn't find even a mention of them. So I pose the question-- has anyone tried them and are they any good? I am having my plastics re painted professionally and I want to know if I should get OER or should I try to find good used ones.

Can you please provide a link or part number? Thank you.

The OER pieces would be the way to go if you can get them. Driver-side sill plates are hard to find used, even more so in good condition. I've got several new RH side plates but the only extra LH plate (used) I had I recently installed in one of my GTAs.... and it broke just like the original piece did. Boo...
OER replacements would definitely be better.

Re: OER door sills from classic industries
Normally I would agree whole-heartedly. However I posed this question because of the a-pillar trim pieces I recently got from classic. They look really good, but the plastic looks kind of brittle, like it would after about a year or so. So I was wondering if the sills were along the same lines or if they are "reinforced" like the OER headliner trim Hawks offers.

Hi alex722607,
The A-Pillars, item # F3000 and Sill Plates, item # F700 that you have mentioned are not OER brand. However they are manufactured by a licensee of General Motors that produces a variety of high quality, officially licensed service replacement parts. The A-Pillars are currently in stock. They are a relatively new item, released in 2013.
The sill plates are still in development, but we have received word that they should be available this Spring. They are officially licensed by General Motors, are cosmetically correct for 1985-92 models featuring the correct honeycomb/hexagon pattern and "Body By Fisher" logo. They will also fit and function correctly on 1983-84 models as well. We believe you will find them to be an excellent reproduction of the original part as we have. Hope this information helps.

Those parts are made by PW distribution. The owner - Dave Clee takes a lot of pride in the parts he reproduces. They don't make much but the parts they do are usually high quality.
Other parts that they have made are the reproduction window switches most of use have purchased when we need a replacement. I also have their repro 82 TA grilles and their TTA emblems - all quality stuff.
I am sure the door sills will be a quality piece when they come out.

In that case, I'm sold. One thing though, on the PW website, they have the beechwood listed. Classic doesn't, but rather has other colors listed. Beechwood is incidentally my interior color.

Thank you for the comment. We have added Beechwood and the other colors that will be available once these items move into production. We now list all the colors that will be made including: Black, Light Blue, Red, Light Saddle, Gray, Beechwood, and Dark blue.

Board members: Take note here that someone from the company actually watches and cares about what happens to their products here. Please treat him with respect and understand the value of this, especially this group of companies, for the value they will give our cars long-term by supplying quality parts that are simply not available elsewhere.

Re: OER door sills from classic industries
Is this the same OER brand that makes the reproduction console lids for 3rd gen Camaro's?
If so I can tell you that they make some excellent reproductions! Mine fits and looks 100% original. It's a very nice quality piece. You get your money's worth for sure.
Edit: just realized that the door sills are not oer. I'm still wanting to grab a set though!

Re: OER door sills from classic industries
Hi
I know this is old. Has anyone bought these sill plates in beechwood color ? It says for 87-92 . I read that 92 was a off year for the color. Basically wondering if it's a exact color match for my 89 GTA beechwood color before I order a set.

Re: OER door sills from classic industries
If it is an 89 and a Pontiac I know for sure it will match. I am not sure about Chevy colors, if they offered more tan colors or not.
1992 saw the substitution of beechwood with a more neutral color tan, but not nearly as neutral as the 4th gen 1998-02.
I wanted to get these and the repro headliner plastic from Hawks as well as new seals and a carpet, but I stumbled into an Engine swap instead.

These look fantastic! But I'm worried about the color?
http://pwdstore.com/product_info.php...roducts_id/184
Didn't 92 have the brighter red? I'm not sure if these would be a match.....
Some of their other parts make the distinction between red and flame red like here, so I'm pretty sure some of us are outta luck :/
