since i needed/wanted a few cameras for taking video i couldnt afford to get a few gopro's so i did a bunch of research and ended up with a sj1000.

these cameras are on ebay and in some stores for around 80$'s each

they are 12 megapixel and have 140* lenses and come with a waterproof case , and a bunch of assorted mounts

so far i love this thing i only got it a few hours ago so i havent taken much video with it , but i have to pick my wife up from work at 11pm tonight so im going to throw it back in my truck and grab a night time video to see how it does

and tommorow i will grab a video on the highway to see how it records at 80mph

I have that camera. The battery it comes with doesn't seem to last that long, but other then that it's ok.

The ring around the edge makes me want to use scissors as a weapon.

Get your foot off the brake shortly after 1:22.

Work on your hood flopping at 1:53.

Other than that, the quality is good. Some mild editing (like over-exposure of color like so many people do these days) could help a tiny bit. Thanks for sharing the vid.

The wide angle lense is so wide it picks up the edge of it's own case. Take it out of the case and there is no ring but then I wouldn't have a way to mount it


No i'm tryin to heat up the ET streets.

only fix is hood pins. Not sure I want to cut holes in the hood. It's been like that for a decade, but maybe someday.

that is my only comlpiant so far is when u put it in the case u get the edges of the lens in the video
but honestly thats a minor thing when u consider u can buy what 4 of these for the price of a gopro

im still not brave enough to mount it outside the car/truck , are u using the mount it came with?

shot another one with it today i do like the built in sound leveling it has , u can hear it working in this vid

this vid dont look as good as it should because i converted it before i uploaded it to youtube , and accidently converted it to the wrong format , still looks alot nicer then my iphone vids


lol next project after the tt iroc is making my truck a bit faster dam 350 tbi engine just aint cutting it
