Axle/Gears: 3.73
Throttle body air foil

i am looking for the right throttle body air foil to buy for my 88' iroc tpi.... I see hawks sells the slp one that boots intake flow by 30 cfm.. but i am seeing other ones online that does 40 cfm by crt perforformance... does any one know the best one to buy?....the one by crt also comes with an air lid gasket? what is that and do i need that?

I have the one by crt. The lid that says tuned port injection has to come off to put in a block that the airfoil screws into.

I've seen someone gain HP by removing their air foil . just food for thought .

Waste of $ .. buy something else

Put your money to better use and gasket match your plenum and runners, cheaper than the air foil and would probably make more of a difference .

I don't think it's a waste. They are probably worth 1-2 hp, regardless of which one you buy.

i did the one that Hawks sells and it took me 20 minutes to install; i don't remember any kind of gasket...

car felt somewhat quicker afterwards, according to my butt dyno

Im not positive what that gasket is for, but I did have a vacuum leak pop up when I swapped out that top plate and tried to skip the gasket. There are usually cheap ones on Ebay..you dont need anything crazy for that.
