Craftsman Max Axess Sockets for Spark Plugs - Highly Recommended!

Replacing spark plugs after installing headers became a real pain.
I tried this socket set and they are absolutely awesome!
Now it's a simple task that I don't mind doing.
Thought I would share. Hope this helps.

I bought the Harbor Freight version a couple of years ago—much cheaper. Very nice.

Yep!

i made mine from a spark plug socket back in the 90's. and used a stubby gear wrench 3/4" on it to zip them hard ones out.

but i did pick up a set of the above from HF.

I was very impressed with the fit, finish, and overall quality of the Harbor Freight set, great set for a budget.

I find myself using the half inch adjustable length ratchet non-stop.

Re: Craftsman Max Axess Sockets for Spark Plugs - Highly Recommended!

I made a custom spark plug tool out of a 1/4" flexible ratchet. I can pull my plugs in a couple of minutes! I'll post a pic when I get home....it's pretty cool.

Re: Craftsman Max Axess Sockets for Spark Plugs - Highly Recommended!

I bought a TrickFlow spark plug tool for my Camaro. It works great buuuut it costs about the same as that whole darn kit.

Got another tool to go buy!

Here's the one I made. I don't over tighten my plugs, so a short handle and open end is perfect. I can change my plugs in no time.

Check out some of the wrenches on this site = http://www.walmart.com/search/search...false&ic=16_0&
This one is interesting = http://www.motosport.com/MSR-Plug-Wrench
I don't understand why some of them are priced the way they are but there are one or two within my price range.

Re: Craftsman Max Axess Sockets for Spark Plugs - Highly Recommended!

The problem I have with a few of my plugs is the head bolts are so close to the spark plug that I can't get a socket around the plug. A bent open end wrench is about the only thing that works for some of them.
