Re: anybody try this pan?
I've used Moroso pans for other applications. In the case of the last one I used it was pretty warped and even after some work to flatten it out on my surfacing table it still required a lot of sealant to fill in the gaps where the flange was warped from welding.

Re: anybody try this pan?
they seem to do that some times..will do a post on fitment..wanted to drop as much weight with lighter parts as I could... this pan is almost 4lbs lighter the the steel pan..and the billet oil pump is almost 3lbs lighter the the cast iron part...(melling 55HV w/canton pick up)
with all the other parts that have been replaced that's over 200lbs off the front of the car at this point..and nothing has been hacked up.(not into rattle traps)
just replaced with aftermarket parts..and just removed as they are not needed...
nexed up.. am going with aluminum struts..to drop some more wt..

Re: anybody try this pan?
pan came in today..
will post some pics..
what it looks like is they make the pan..and then Machine the billet rails.to make sure they are flat... I like it. will do a test fit also..
per moroso
Aluminum, Wet Sump, 8 Quart Capacity, 8-1/4" deep
Engine Application: Pre-1985 Engine Blocks including Dart and Merlin
Fits: Super Stock/Bracket Cars, Dragsters, Roadsters or Body Cars with wet sump oil systems
Aluminum, fully fabricated oil pan accepts 4.25" strokes with steel rods..( love aftermarket blocks)
Double kick-out design ensures large stroke clearance, wide main cap clearance and maximum horsepower
Billet end seals ensure consistent sealing surface to billet front covers and rear main caps
For use with 168-tooth flywheel combination
Solid lourvered tray for maximum power and oil control
Features O-ring magnetic drain plug, two 1⁄2" N.P.T. drain backs and dipstick bung
so now this oilpan gets stacked in the... not getting used parts pile...
aluminum....

Re: anybody try this pan?
I kind of want that pan, but I'm not sure I could sneak the oil filter in and out past the bungs on the side, between the header and the pan ... that's how it works with my moroso which has the same kind of sump.

Re: anybody try this pan?
it is a snug fit but the oil filter slips out by the flexplate/ header /oilpan...
but would be fantastic with a remote filter.. the moroso pan has a cutout for the filter to just slide into place...
ill take a few shots it on the block the headers are hooker 2210 (what ever the longtube part number)
going to pick up my $3600 700R4 super dooper transbrake close ratio killer trany this fri.. my guy who put it all together told all the parts feel like glass now installed....hope it works out..thats a lot of money into hard parts..if it works..and I like it..ill do a 2nd one with my back up trany..over the winter....lol seems the wife after getting a new SS kitchen and new carpet (all of the house).. is yapping about counter tops...(not going to happen) I want a rider for cutting the grass...lol

I have a similar Moroso pan right now (to the Canton) it's just old and apparently I didn't prep it as well as I thought I did when I painted it because its rusting and peeling
It never ends man!
