Seems risky to me, I've seen threads of people having issues with Blueprint engines and get treated poorly by customer service when they contact them.

If I was in the market for an engine of that price, I would be looking up reputable engine builders who have a history of building high performance race engines. preferably one within driving distance.

Re: blue print eng 632 anybody try this one yet/or any blue print eng.

ya iv been looking for the last year..at the 632s and parts...close to pulling the trigger.. that why I'm asking...the set of heads I would like run close to $4000. and the short block runs almost $8000.. that's before an intake...

just did not want to piece one together..buy it little left to do...at a price that's not all that bad.. as for the after sale stuff..its summit to start with..and Visa....so no worries..
its the price that draws ya in I see mostly good stuff about them..and like others in the market. the warrenty is stand up..
better then most...

Re: blue print eng 632 anybody try this one yet/or any blue print eng.

There is a couple of threads over on the yellowbullet that go into some depth about that engine your looking at. Blueprint even talked to everyone about it in the threads. What it amounted to was it was a decent street motor. It was not a race piece and was not designed to be one. It is a low compression, undercammed, big inch motor. For a car show guy I would think it would be a good piece. Nyes auto and a few others have some decent motors similar in price range but have more mainstream named brand parts, which looked like they may take more of track oriented beating.

I guess in the end it depends on what your plans are for the car.

Re: blue print eng 632 anybody try this one yet/or any blue print eng.

would you have a link?..

have to take a better look..did not see anything posted...(YB)
the one I'm looking at is 10.8 to1 CR. and rated at over 800hp... fine for the street..as the car is not a cut up gutted out race car.. still rinning power Glass windows.. locks..tilt wheel...ya know street stuff..

YA can add small stuff like cam....rocker Girdle.. but as a bolt in start...its not a bad deal... as ya don't have to rev the thing to 6800rpm to make power.

ya can stay in that fun to play 5500 to 6000rpm ball park..as the headers are only 1.78 and start off at $800 to $1100
but like anything..its only a start...after ya get it going then ya start thinking better heads...and?

as what I had picked out is $12.000 .. or I end up with $8000 short block and $4000 heads.. before intake and cam....
by the time I add every thing together its like$18.000...and that's ok...for the long run...just looking for the plug and play $10.000 grand kick start...

iv never had any problems with manufactures warranty's...ever...and don't think I would have with them....or summit..or Visa (cover my butt)

I like the block they use... will have to ask about the heads..or see if I can send in a set of the heads I want? that would be cool...ya never know...

Re: blue print eng 632 anybody try this one yet/or any blue print eng.

I cant speak for the engines, but i bought a set of cheaper cylinder heads (H8002K) The first set was meh. I did find the valve guides having a bit more play in the intake valves than i would have liked - Also the cut on the combustion chamber was a bit rough. Fedex dropped the box and ruined the head itself so they sent me out a second set of heads which was MUCH better. Perfectly cut chamber on this set too. This was their $900 set of aluminum 195 heads. If you do ever run into issues, i would ship the thing back as a whole from what ive read.

Re: blue print eng 632 anybody try this one yet/or any blue print eng.

A neighbor put a Blue Print 383 in is 84 Camaro. After the carb was correctly tuned the car ran well. The motor didn't have any issues the two years I knew him. The car made a 2,000 mile trip with the engine and back without issues.

I would call Reher-Morrison and see what they can do for you for ~ $12,000 big block.
Likewise, B.E.S. Racing Engines would be an excellent choice for the big block too.

Re: blue print eng 632 anybody try this one yet/or any blue print eng.

Morrison and BES are on a separate playing field then the blueprint engine.

For what your doing though it sounds like you have a pretty good idea that the engine would fit your bill just fine.

It would be kinda hard to compete with the warrenty that's for sure!

Also some of us still like our power glass windows and tilt wheels in our drag cars FYI lol

Course I am one of the weird ones that like to buy all the components and assemble my own creation!

Re: blue print eng 632 anybody try this one yet/or any blue print eng.

getting long block of this
http://www.shafiroff.com/chevy-crate...wg-twisted.php

as march has no pully set up for the tall deck block ill have to go with the 615 big block set up.. and buy the pully set up. that is like the one I have now on the 427 sbc..
will be a bit less as I will use MSD ignition/Distributor/and a EFI intake/TB.

my 427 sbc with small block pully set up..i like..

this will soon just be a wall hanger of sorts...
