Summit Racing

I ordered some ceramic hookers from summit about a month ago. I installed them and drove 96 miles and them parked for 2 weeks. I opened the hood to check the oil and saw they were covered in rust. I sent them back to summit and recived my new set in 6 days. I checke my email today and found that they have refunded the $18.00 it took for me to ship the old set back. As always, excellent job.

Yeah they have great customer support and their freight shipping is the cheapest I have seen. Next engine I build I will get a crate engine from summitracing because I know they will honor the warranty and not kill me on freight charges.

$18 to mail headers? Wow, that's cheap.

No offense, but if I lived that close to Summit I would go pick the stuff up. I live 2 miles from one Jegs and 10 from the main store...I would never pay to have anything shipped. Just my opinion. I love going to Summit, great showroom...I do hate the 3 step proceedure to get my parts though.

i haven't spent that much, but pretty darn close. they are great to deal with. i bet a lot of people don't realize it though. you never realize how good some places are to deal with until you deal with one that isnt.

What alot of people dont realize is that SUMMIT brand performance parts are VERY good products....I was actually thinking on running a FULL SUMMIT RACING SETUP. Their exhaust kits with their water pump and just all their products. Just saying their parts THEY make are good products....worht the money type of deal.

When you buy a crap load of parts and gas is high (high enough to make you want to get things sent) it is CHEAPER this way to have them shipped. Even if you DOOOO live by summit (45min away). Thats just how it goes.

Sometimes you get a pleasant surprise when you do have a problem. Catco converter with a loose bed, real noisy. Went through the return process with Summit, got a new converter, no charge. Couple days later I got a letter from Summit with a check for about $10 to cover my return shipping. Only drawback was the two hours of sweat labor to get that old converter off undamaged without using a sawzall or BFH, but that's expected.

I live about an hour away from Summit and I usually pay for shipping just 'cause I'm lazy and driving 2 hours round trip just aint worth it to me when $9.95 is well worth it to bring it to me. Even at the store you walk in and they jump out at you wanting to help and always have enough employees to help anyone there. Summit is the only place I'll buy anything new just for the fact if I have any questions or problems I know I'll be taken care of. Summit just flat out rocks just like about everyone else has said. I even put a Summit sticker on the back of my Explorer as a kind of free advertisement to show my support for their company.

As said earlier by others, I have spent far over 30,000 at summit, and couldn't be happier. Even on a military base, they get their parts here in two or three days (priority mail from Oceanside, right next to the base, takes three days ) and when I have run into a problem, like when they send the wrong part or you order the wrong part, they are so fast about fixing it that you never remember there was a problem at all. Every time I have had something shipped freight (engines, trannys, headers exe.) they have called to confirm driving directions and time of drop off. I would never shop anywhere else for performance parts. Like I H8 WWD said, the Summit brand parts are of excellent quality, I have their air filters (work just as well as K&N), fuel pumps, and regulators (you all will laugh at this- the summit regulator I ordered pn# SUM-G3131B has "holley" stamped on it). Every part I have recieved from their brand line has performed as well as any other part on the market. Consider me a life time customer

Yeah, Summit products are just as good others is because they are made by major manufacturers. That Summit brand waterpump that you just saved 15$ on is actually a Weiand pump, but in a "white box." and so on and so on...

This is good and bad. Summit has such a monopoly on the aftermarket, that manufactures like Weiand (for example) have to sell to Summit at such a discounted price or Summit will not do as much business with Wieand as they do with Edelbrock etc... that make sense??

summit hasnt cornered the aftermarket industry, type in aftermarket car parts in google and see how many websites come up. and summit isnt always the cheapest either. the reason why summit is so popular is because of advertizing. they advertize they are the best, they get lots of orders and suddenly they have a big warehouse. the reason why they have thier own brand line is because they do deals with other manufactures, and just slap thier name on it. but just because the waterpump was manufactured at wieland, doesnt mean that summit will adhere to the same standards that wieland waterpumps adhere to, less quality control or cheaper waterseals and shafts and suddenly the price is 30 buks cheaper.

and becides, if somebody wants a wieland accessory, they will go to another company to get it if summit doesnt carry it.

PS: the same rule applies for every major aftermarket vendor on the market. thers no monolopy, thers no "supply and demand", thers too many places out there to go to for other accessories that there cant be a monolopy
