Camaro Central - NOT recommended!

I just stumbled across camarocentral.com and saw that they actually had something I've been looking two years for: underhood stickers! They even have reproductions of original Chevrolet window stickers (certain years).

I bought an emissions and hose routing decal from them for $11.50 (after shipping, it was about $16 bucks).

If you are looking for hard to find decals, check them out (I set the link to 1982-1992 model years):

Re: Very reasonably priced decals/stickers for third gens

Hold off if you are planning on making a purchase!

When I received mine in the mail, I noticed that the sticker info. was for a "1988 model year" instead of the 1987 I had ordered. Additionally, the fonts looked a bit different - not too exact of a reproduction. Further, there were smudges on both stickers from the printer!

I called the 800 number to complain and the rep (Logan) seemed very nice. He said that an outside vendor did the actual making/printing of the decals for them and he requested that I mail mine back to him so that he could inspect them. He said that he would reimburse me the shipping as well. I'm waiting to hear back from him, so again, if you were interested in obtaining these decals, hold off until I update.

They received my decals back and he said that they looked pretty decent in his opinion. When I pointed out that I had an issue with the printer lines/smudges he told me that all of the ones he had seen looked ike that. End result; I requested a full refund.

Today, I see that they have shortchanged me by seven dollars. The decals were $16.80 and then I paid another $1.80 to mail them back to him (his request) for review. My total money spent: $18.60. He only refunded me (Paypal) $11.50. I just sent him an email voicing my displeasure as well as requesting a refund for the balance. If he tries the 'restocking fee' game with me, I'm not going to be happy, especially since instead of restocking, they belong in the trash!

Well, after not hearing back from them, I had to open a dispute case with Paypal, requesting the original money difference, as well as the shipping I paid to send back the decals at their request.

Camaro Central agreed to reimburse me the difference of the original payment but wouldn't give me the extra shipping costs for shipping it back to them at their request! Paypal felt that since the original difference was refunded, the dispute case should be closed case.

So, although I'm out only two dollars, on principle, I give Camaro Central two thumbs down and advise others to take their business elsewhere.

Re: Camaro Central - NOT recommended!

I have mixed feelings with Camaro Central. I ordered about 6 pieces for my 1989 convertible. Most of what I ordered was pretty good. But 2 pieces I ordered ( black door jams ) they sent me dark grey instead even though I had specifically stated I needed black in the notes on the order (the pictures on their site were black but it didn't say color anywhere on the item)

It wasn't a horrible experience (I haven't went through the return process yet) I will say I needed one part quickly and they shipped it out same day and the shop got it one day earlier than we expected.

Do keep in mind though, if it doesn't say New or NOS then you are most likely getting a very well worn and used part. The stock pictures shown on the product isn't usually what you are actually getting.

Re: Camaro Central - NOT recommended!

I have dealt with them in person at Carlisle and on the phone my experience was a good one. They charged me no shipping and reduced prices on their products. I bought three IROC-Z bumper emblems (two of them I used for rocker emblems), a "5.7 tuned port injection" bumper emblem, a bow tie nose emblem and a cowl to hood seal I tried to get them to throw in a free t-shirt but they didn't go for it. The shipping was very fast. I went with Phoenix Graphix for my decals.
