Rock Auto. Above and beyond.

So a couple weeks ago, I ordered my new interior carpet from Rock auto. I had ordered a bunch of little stuff from them for my project, and they seemed to have the best price on the carpet anyway.

It was drop shipped from ASC super quick. I had an estimated ship date of the 14th as I recall.. and it arrived at my door on the 12th.

Anyway, I was pretty excited to get to work on the interior. I laid it out in the garage for a couple hours then went to work fitting it. as I started on the back, I noticed a crease in the back wasnt coming out... uh oh....

https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/inte...ew-carpet.html

totally stupid of me to start cutting and fitting the carpet before verifying it was good.

I emailed Rockauto customer support and started talking to Liz. Explained the situation, Sent some pictures and after a few email exchanges, I was issued a RMA and Call tag for the defective carpet.

New carpet showed up this week. Totally thrilled with the customer service I received. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend these guys for anything you might need for your car. They will certainly be my first stop from now on.

Set of struts took 3 working days to the UK from Rock, quicker than ordering from a supplier over here!

Re: Rock Auto. Above and beyond.

Ordered a set of double line refinished iroc wheels from rock auto on a Sunday, they shipped out Monday and I received them on Wednesday. I was told they get the wheels from keystone. These wheels are awesome. I am very satisfied with rockauto and the customer service person (Aaron) was very helpful answering all my questions. I do recommend TGO members check this place out.
I'm glad I just happened to see one of their ads on TV because I didn't know about them.

Re: Rock Auto. Above and beyond.

love Rock Auto too.. good prices, good range of parts and good communication which is vital for an international customer like me.

The only thing they could change for me, which I have told them already, is to find a way to consolidate parts from different warehouses into one shipment.

The international shipping costs are too high to have separate orders sent for even little parts. I would accept a small shipping charge within the US for them to provide this service.

Re: Rock Auto. Above and beyond.

I've given them over 1500 bucks and they never cease to impress me with their prices or shipping.

Tip: put the largest item in your cart first, then when searching for other parts buy the one with the truck symbol by it, doesn't cost you any extra shipping.

Re: Rock Auto. Above and beyond.

i ordered a Weatherstrip kit manufactured by Sherman for $334.79 from rockauto.com last week, it has just arrived today as expected. thats the good part. when i opened the box i found the packages stamped with "Metro supersoft weatherstrip". going back to rockauto.com showed me that the metro brand was also a similar kit priced at $297.79 but was noted to be * Stocked in outlying warehouse--shipping delayed up to 10 business days. its forecasted to rain this weekend in my area, wich is why i spent more $. i just got off the phone with a rep from rockauto.com and she advised me that at times when the warehouse runs out of one product they substitute it for another. umm, to me that doesnt sound like good business and now i must wait till monday to figure out what happened as they contact the warehouse. im unable to use the parts i was sent because they may need me to return them to make the correction. needless to say im pretty frustrated at this moment.

Re: Rock Auto. Above and beyond.

I don't know if Rock Auto goes "above and beyond" because I've never had an issue with them. Everything has always gone well. Prices are some of the best, if not THE best, anywhere. And shipping is always fast.

Then there are the discount codes, which there's a thread for here on TGO. They can also be found all over the internet.

My most recent order was last monday, expected it wednesay, received it tuesday. I've been buying from them for about 7 or 8 years now, and I'll keep shopping there.

Re: Rock Auto. Above and beyond.

well i hope they do go above and beyond, im probably going to just use what i received and hope they reimburse me for what i overpayed for. even if it is "store credit". theres alot that i need to get and these days everything helps. i will most likely shop with them again because their prices are the best. similar kits on other websites were double what i payed.

Re: Rock Auto. Above and beyond.

Well received this reply;
Good Afternoon,
This is to follow up on the phone conversation we had on Friday evening about the weatherstripping you ordered from us. *It looks like in this case Sherman did rebox the Metro part for resale. *We ship the brands and part numbers that are ordered, in the boxes in which we receive them from the manufacturers. *Occasionally, manufacturers source their parts from another supplier. *In this case it came to us from Sherman, it meets Sherman's quality standards and it is fully covered under their warranty. *So, we are not able to offer any discount on the part.
-----------------------------
I do not consider this above and beyond service. For me to order one part and recieve another is absolutely ridiculous. However as my ttops no longer leak after instal of this weatherstripping i guess i just have to suck it up. Wish i woulda been cheap like i was taught but hey lessons learned.

Re: Rock Auto. Above and beyond.

prices are good, plenty of options, not always all the parts needed and sometimes the shipping prices are totally ridiculous.

I wanted to order a new front air dam for my 08 silverado, $35, sweet! $84 just for shipping... not so sweet...

Re: Rock Auto. Above and beyond.

I have ordered from them MANY times NO issues EVER !!,And I tell you they sometimes have LONG discontinued OBSOLETE parts !!!

They had ULTRA rare NOS AC/Delco '82-83 WS6 rear calipers for $25 each still in the original '80's box !!! I have those bad boys on my '82 Trans am now

And they pretty much have the LOWEST price on ACC carpet !!!!

Re: Rock Auto. Above and beyond.

rock auto has great prices most of the time but they have the ballon type levelers in the springs for the back of my car for 111 dollars while the local store has the exact same thing for 89 dollars so compare prices.

I had a similar customer service experience recently. I had ordered all new lugs and plastic caps for my car and the sent me 10 lugs and 10 wheel studs. the wheel stud part number was one number different than that of the lugs. I can't remember what the name of the rep was but I called and she sent me my lug nuts over night and told me not to worry about sending back the studs because they are so cheap. If I don't need it like now, I use Rock auto

Re: Rock Auto. Above and beyond.

I've never had an issue with Rockauto. I've ordered quite a few things from them and have always found the shipping to be fast and the prices very good. I ordered Moog front coil springs from them and even with shipping, they were still cheaper than buying them from Autozone or Advance Auto. Plus their selection of parts is more vast than going to a neighborhood parts house.

Re: Rock Auto. Above and beyond.

I too deal with Rock Auto but sometime shipping can get ridiculous. It would be nice if it was more clear what warehouse it was coming from before you add to the cart. Regardless it is my first place to look for parts now.

Re: Rock Auto. Above and beyond.

Ive been ordering from Rockauto for a while. Prices are the lowest I usually can find.

Except for the AC Delco Cold Start Injector O-ring $20 with shipping and discount code.

Other than that I would highly recommend them.
