Phoenix Caliper Co.

Ok guys I have been looking high and low for a rear left caliper for the my 88 rear end. The 1LE package caliper is not easy to find. Not one parts store sold the one i needed, except pepboys who shipped one to me from texas which looked like it sat at the bottom of an ocean for 100 years. No seals, not even a piston on that caliper.

Even tried ordering a caliper online and was shipped the wrong caliper....

So i did a quick google search and found this company, Phoenix Caliper Company.
http://www.phoenixcaliper.com/

Phoenix is located in Chicago, IL and so far im happy with the service. It's a nice change of pace being able to talk to someone on the phone who is not rushing you off the phone and answers all you questions w/o any sort of attitude. Right now im happy with the service, but in a week I'll post what I think of their product.

Will also post before and after pictures!!

Re: Phoenix Caliper Co.

Were you missing the caliper all together? Or was yours just not rebuildable?

Re: Phoenix Caliper Co.

Those didnt come out until 89... is that why you're having a problem finding it?

There's several on rockauto too. Looks like that one you have has been clearanced to fit a 15 inch wheel or something judging by the grinding on the fins?

Re: Phoenix Caliper Co.

Rear brake calipers were the same on all rear disc cars, including 1LE, starting in 89

Re: Phoenix Caliper Co.

I ordered my rebuilt pair from Summit last year. They work great and look really good. Had to send the cores back to Summit.

Came out great. Every bushing and piece of rubber was replaced.

Phoenix was quick and did a great job.
My only complaint is that they put the wrong bleeder screw in.
I would definitely recommend.
