Re: Hawks Third Gen
Made my first ever purchase and ordered some "Performance suspension" emblem from Hawks for a customer and they were VERY nicely priced and shipped FAST !!

Re: Hawks Third Gen
I've dealt with Hawks in the past year for wheels and a panhard bar and the products and customer service have been excellent. They're only one of a few places making parts to support our thirdgen hobby, and I think we should appreciate that and work with them constructively.

Re: Hawks Third Gen
Also, a number of us would like to buy the Donald thump camshaft Tshirt. Would you be able to post a for sale thread of it? I emailed with one of your employees, Ryan (I believe) who told me if they had ten orders your could sell them at $20 a pop. I think this would get more attention than me starting a thread in the barely traveled "Group purchase" board.
Thanks,
Mark.

I have had good experience with Hawks and Bruce in particular. They are professional. Not always the lowest price but good value. And who else is making/offering some of these parts? One of the last items I purchased was a re-designed hatch pull down. Way better than the original. No other company is even thinking about these type of issues/improvements yet. Our 80's cars are not old enough to be true classics yet but too old for factory parts in many instances. If we don't support Hawks and companies like them we are shooting ourselves in the foot. Figuratively speaking. No, they aren't perfect and parts occasionally don't live up to expectations. But unless we want no parts or everything coming from overseas we better think twice about bashing one of the only places supporting our hobbies. The analogy of returning parts to WalMart is apropos. Would I expect my customer to treat me that way? Why would I expect my vendor to do so? When it comes to used parts no longer available they have never told me "we don't have that". Man that answer is worth a day or two of hunting through salvage yards. How much is that worth? To me, a lot. Keep up the good work Hawks.

Well hopefully the Formula is ready to go by then then. Let everyone know as soon as you know, give folks a chance to order anything so you can bring it to the show with you. Like I said, I think if you brought a box of the Donald Thump shirts - if you do make them - they would sell out.

I'm going to chime in as well. I've been dealing with Bruce for more than 3 years and I have been extremely satisfied!!! I feel his prices have been fair and he's always willing to give me advice. He's taken time to show me how they've installed LS Engines when ever I've had a problem. When I've had an issue (and there haven't been many) Bruce has taken care of it no questions asked!!!

Maybe the Pontiac show in Norwalk OH in the 1st weekend in Aug. You could play on the strip, show some cars, be a vendor (all in one place) and best of all you could hang out with your fat buddy .... me..

As 10 months have elapsed on a part with a stated 15 day return policy , No Bruce , I don't think your wrong at all . It appears some folks want "cradle to grave" support on used parts and this is just not fair to you , considering your stated 15 day policy . I think your offer to the gent was plenty fair considering the 10 months that have elapsed , which was failed to be mentioned in "zman1969" 's rant post against you . There are always two sides to every story and in this case it's pretty obvious that it's the customer whose at fault here .

Re: Hawks Third Gen
yes i know it was a while ago I purchased a steering wheel for a car and wasn't thinking Man i have 15 days to find out if there's anything wrong with the electronics in it so yes my bad. this wasn't installed for 10 months and then went bad It didn't work properly when it was installed. I have several cars that I buy parts for and dont get around to installing them the day they arrive. I already had a wheel so it wasn't undrivable. I don't expect Cradle to grave warranty I also never thought a steering wheel would have any issues only being 3 or 4 years old either. I asked Hawks for assistance and consideration, he did communicate quickly which is more than I can say for some Ebay sellers. Now with that said his 15 day policy is fair to all ( I actually thought would be 90 days) and he said NO to any support (discounting a part to what I can buy it for isn't really any help at all) no hard feelings I will just not support his business any more in the future and spend my money elsewhere

Re: Hawks Third Gen
I could not be happier with Hawks. I got my aerowing spoiler about a month ago, fits great close to painting the primer on it. Ordered some smalls off eBay and direct, no problems. Been dealing with Steve. I will be ordering an entire soft interior kit along with some other needed items for my restore.

Re: Hawks Third Gen
For the record, I've been buying bits and pieces from Hawks for probably 10 years. They were a convenient go to shop for small things like switches and carpet that weren't locally available. And they never disappointed me on any of those smaller purchases.
In the last year, I've started to lean on them and make what are, likely, unreasonable requests like I need a grey t top headliner tomorrow. Or to ask if they can hand deliver a part to an event with the call being made on the day they are packing to leave for the event. And Bruce and his team have always found a way to make it work. Parts have never been missing or damaged when the package arrives and the staff have always been professional and helpful. Even my latest request of "Bruce, we broke the frame, can you review the photos, give me feedback on the repair and a timeline" went as expected. Can I get everything on my terms and timeline, no. It isn't a reasonable request or good business for them to shuffle all of their existing work to put mine to the front. I know that, even if I don't 100% like it. But Bruce provided some valuable insight on what would be required and when he could take it into the shop.. He even offered to help source any materials needed for the repairs if I took it somewhere else and OE sheet metal was needed.
Do I think there have never been legitimate complaints about products and service, no. That is the target for businesses but almost impossible to achieve. But I will keep shopping at Hawks simply because I have never had anything but stellar service and they have items that simply aren't available anywhere else. And if you get the chance to meet them at the shop or an event, you'll probably find out the most important thing about them. They are great people. They're friendly and willing to talk about the parts and cars and help you with issues.
And if you get a chance to race Tyler, be prepared to lose.

Re: Hawks Third Gen
While not product oriented, I did have a question for those here. Whose car has been dyno tuned by Hawks? I know tuners are a dying (if not endangered species) breed but I do like to see past experiences from customers on the service I am looking for. Has anybody had DYNO TUNE service by them? Thanks in advance guys and gals.
