Hawks headliner sag
Anyone else have any issues with Hawks headliner kit. While driving my car before winter storage I noticed two issues with it.
1.passenger corner is starting to sag the way 20 year old gm cars do.
2. I have a defined bend above the rear view mirror pointing down.
The rear portion that covers the 6x9 speakers in the rear are made strait. While installing these pieces this cardboard will crease leaving a defined line. I was able to modify this using a wet sponge and applying plastic to the back side. I also used an iron to fix the original crease.
Door sweeps were also dented on the ends (poor storage or shipping)At the time they were out of stock so replacement was going to be a waiting game. Hawks did try to work with me asking what I wanted and offered to give me advice on how to correct the damage. In the end I decided to move on and just rework the damage to a clean street car standard.
I'll be contacting Hawks again this week to address these issues. I hate doing projects twice

Re: Hawks headliner sag
I had to glue plastic to the back side of these panels to eliminate the crease. Turned out perfect in the end

I'll get some pictures soon. I'm sure I'll need to show the issues when I contact Hawks.

the factory head liner has 3 clips which the ABS does not. what you can do is pull the headliner down in the front to access the clips and put some F26 on the part of the clip that contacts the headliner. push the headliner back up and use something wide and flat to put against the headliner and put a prop to hold it in place.
the F26 is tough stuff. after this your headliner will be tight.
